Indisputably proving to the attractive female Customs agent that he doesn't have much to declare.

Who said it had to be attractive? Or female? Or a Customs agent?

I only speak for me and not the nun standing next to me but: Horrified/Fascinated!  How could anything that small be bent in so many directions?

I just heard back from Sister Helga, she said it was no big deal and apologized for removing her habit due to the heat.

Another traffic story.

Driving a convertible today with the top down, heading to lunch with Mrs. Malabar. We're driving on a long stretch of 45 MPH single lane road that has no passing zones. No problem, there is nobody in front of me and I'm cruising contentedly at 54.999 MPH. A garbage truck pulls out in front of me from a side street. It proceeded to limp along at 20MPH. It also stank to high heaven, and with the top down there was no avoiding the smell.  Apparently it was in too much of a hurry to wait the 5 seconds it would have taken me to drive by.

They are well aware of the havoc they wreak, or is it reek? Many times I’ve been forced to nearly floor it to get past them on a 4 lane road by my house because they drive as fast as possible to keep traffic behind them.
So I've actually wanted to start work for the last couple of days because I'm pretty  much bored stiff, sitting on the damn couch with my leg elevated.  JOI was supposed to have my paperwork returned to my employer last Friday.  Unbelievably, there is ONE person in that office that can fill out FMLA paperwork..  They only do it on [BLEEP] Fridays and Tuesdays.  Well guess what?  She was doing clinical reviews on Friday and they never submitted my paperwork so I was not able to start working on Monday.  I spoke with my HR rep at work  and she said that it was required that I had the company paperwork filled out (even though I submitted her the physician's paperwork).  It was apparently not detailed enough for her and she needed the paperwork so that she could see my limitations.  It was for 'the company's protection as well as mine'.  Granted the company I am at is a railroad company, but I'm in [BLEEP] IT.   I'm going to be sitting on my [BLEEP] with my laptop in my lap.  It's pretty damn clear what I'm going to be doing.  So now JOI finally submits my paperwork and I have not heard from HR since telling them it was sent.  I'm hoping there is nothing 'wrong' with it.  Otherwise this whole [BLEEP] cycle will start over again.  This is ridiculous.  I feel like the ball in a game of bureaucratic ping-pong.  I am so [BLEEP] pissed.  I'm only permitted X amount of sick days and if I eat those up I have to use vacation days.  And then it's days without pay.

Ugh. This just keeps getting better, huh? Hope those clowns get it sorted out today.

I've joined the ranks of the hobbled, BTW.  Nothing a scary as your injury, but a partial tear to the MCL.  No golfing for me until late summer at the earliest.

Good grief...and it continues.  So the HR person finally gets my paperwork from JOI and submits it for approval to start work tomorrow to my VP.  Surprise, surprise...he's out of town at a conference and will probably not be checking his email until this evening, after the HR department has gone home.  My manager and VP have already discussed my working at home and have approved it, so my manager calls HR and tells them such.  But, nope...you guessed it.  It requires the signoff of my VP.  What a joke.

Solid dose of murphy's law for you lately.  Awaiting that upswing in luck any time now...

I feel for you.  I have one of my best electronics bench guys on a "leave of absence" because his doctor had said that he needed to be on "light duty".  Our company would not let him work on "light duty" since we have stairs in our building (one of the limitations of his light duty) and he is not supposed to lift more than 30 lbs.  His bench that he SITS at is not upstairs and he works on CIRCUIT BOARDS that weigh at the most 1 lb.  I'm hoping that he is able to come back to work in a couple of weeks.  His was a back surgery not a leg injury, but it's kind of the same thing.

Yay.  I've cleared the red tape.  I'm working today.  They only wasted two of my sicks days...well besides the ten that the doctor wanted me out.
When you make an appointment for your truck to get a brake controller installed and verify it’ll be the ‘factory’ way, get placed on hold to make sure they have the part, they do. Make an appointment, double check before they even take truck back, they verify with parts, then after hour and a half in waiting lounge, the guy comes out and says “ we don’t have that part’.

I double check because of people’s incompetence and am still leaving frustrated.
When you order a plate of tacos and you only get one napkin.
I’ve got 2 bathrooms, yet seem to not be able use them.  Looks like I’m pissing outside again.
Peeing outside is great. No aim required.
