Full Version: Who is Andrew Luck?

Quote:Did he? I watched on mute ( can't handle the overpraise) and he dinked and dunked ok and basically looked the same guy as seasons past, most dangerous when pocket breaks and he's on the move. Accuracy still spotty. YPA under 5? He really doesn't need to do much to be "impressive". Seemed Nicks did most the work

Also without TY Hilton & Reggie Wayne....

Wayne is most likely done anyway.

Didn't say Luck did anything bad but certainly nothing that could be deemed impressive as the other guy stated.

Lol no he's not.

He is breaking new ground if he comes back from an ACL at 35 and is still a top player, so not sure what you are lolling at. How many yards are you expecting?

Well it's not like Wayne was ever a real #1 WR anyway so maybe nothing has changed.

Woah woah woah that's crazy talk. Wayne has been very good for a long time.

Sure he's good, but was he ever a real #1 guy? I'd say he was more like Keenan McCardell than Jimmy Smith. You know what I mean?

i think the #1 and #2 designations have gotten ridiculous. that guy is very good. he can run all the routes and make all the catches. maybe he wouldnt be able to do that as well as someone like jimmy smith, but #1 to me usually means the best WR on the team.

unless situations arise where every WR is pretty bad and they would be third on the depth chart on every other team. i suppose its complicated.

Haha uhhhh yeah. 13500 career yrds. Have you ever watched him play?

I don't mean he's not a good player. Just saying that maybe the step he'll lose from coming back from an ACL at 35 won't affect him the same way it would for someone with real #1 WR speed. I think it will affect him, but I can understand why indy fans might think it's not as big a deal for a player who doesn't rely on speed.
LOL

Yeah, Wayne was never a #1 guy.  Rolleyes

This is really pathetic, honestly.

Also, lastonealive, I'm "lolling" at that fact you always think you can predict the future.

Lastonealive, you've mentioned some of the factors that would indicate Wayne not to be the player he once was, and you may be right, but Wayne doesn't have to be the same player.

With Wayne and Hilton out last night, we saw what Hakeem Nicks was capable of. The rookie, Moncrief, has had a very good camp and is showing well, as have Da'Rick Rogers and Whalen. Lastly, the Colts have two very good TEs-- all which will allow for Wayne to play and not have to be the Colt's #1 weapon.
I think the Colts have a ton of great targets.

I can see Moncrief become their #1 receiver after this year, he brings physicality and speed to the position.

TY Hilton is very good.

Fleenor is decent, and Dwayne Allen can be an all-pro IMO.

You are the one who always says Wayne will be back to normal which may be the case but would be a minor miracle

I liked what I saw from Moncrief from college, and remember some buzz about him from a few media heads thinking he would be a solid draft choice and good NFL WR. I think he's gonna be good.

Indy's WR group could be very solid going forward into the next few seasons (Hilton, Moncrief, Allen, and Fleener).

Looks like there could be something special with Luck and those guys. Hope not for the Jags' sake,, we'll see.

Ty Hilton is a potential superstar, his game against KC in the playoffs was spectacular. I have never seen a WR getting that wide open consistently.

It is certainly the potential strength of their team, unfortunately (fortunately for us) the coach seems to be determined to play del Rio football and Luck is basically a game manager the way they play.

Yeah.... Because #2's and 3's always get in the HOF. Your name seems to fit.

That question wasn't aimed at you TMD. Mostly aimed at everyone else.

Most of you think Grigson is a bad GM and has made many mistakes. However, you guys also think that Andrew is an average/not good QB. You do realize that both can't be bad/average to lead us to two playoff births and two double digit win seasons in a row. So which one is it? Or are you guys going to pull the lastonealive card of "you just always get lucky"? Laughing

I think Grigson is "okay". Nothing special, but not overly terrible, either.

He still could have selected RG3 over Luck...

Ty Hilton is not a potential superstar...lol. He's a nice niche player.

I think I am starting to understand how some of you overrate our own players.
