Hey I was first on this Luck isn't up to his hype on this board. I have been mocked relentlessly by you and some Jags fans who listen to John Gruden.

I also panned the Colts for the TRich trade while everyone was complimenting it,

I say i'm building up a nice record on my Colts comments

Uh, what? So because Luck had a bad PRESEASON game, he's not good anymore?

Oy vey... You're on a downward spiral.

Yeah because I have only said it after this game. I have never mentioned Luck in a less than positive note before? I have based my opinion on today's preseason game.

You have been calling me an idiot for 2 years now and you still can't find me a stat to back up what you are calling me an idiot for.

You must be religious with this amount of blind faith.

I do, you just tend to ignore it and go off about how I call him Elway/Marino (I never have). It's pointless to actually go into a football conversation with you because you love to make things up that I say/said. It's weird.

And yes I have called you an idiot for the past 2 years, because well, you act like one on here.
Luck had a bad game.. It happens.. It's preseason and he will be fine (unfortunately for us jag fans) once the regular season starts.

He's not played that good against the jags. Even lost against Gabbert once

OK I must be confused. Where do you think he rates and do you think he has lived up to his hype?

You think I'm an idiot because I think the Colts are mediocre and your qb is middle of the pack. That's OK everyone knows you are a big homer.

the game he lost to Gabbert was a fluke but at the end of the day the Colts are certainly the team to beat in this division.

Um, what? Outside the 1st game against the Jags we have literally dominated every game. The games haven't even been close. He's 3-1 against the Jags.

Only QBs I'd take over Luck (not taking age into consideration): PManning, Brady, Rivers, Rodgers, Brees. If that makes me a homer, so be it. However, I believe many would agree with me (non-biased people without an 'Colts suck at everything' agenda.. AKA you).

Also, still think it's hilarious you call me a homer when Bortles is now the best QB in the division (after 3 preseason games, mostly against backups) according to you.  Laughing

A lot of teams have dominated us with some very mediocre QB's. Luck's play itself hasn't been great. He's been quite lucky in a couple games to not throw a bag of picks. Ryan Fitzpatrick has looked impressive against us too.

So Luck is the 6th best QB in your world? I personally would add Romo, Rothlisberger, Wilson and Cutler for definite. Also so far his play is comparable to Ryan, Flacco, Dalton, Foles, Stafford and Newton. I would have added Eli Manning as better a year ago but he's fallen off a total cliff.

There it is!

I LOVE when you play that card!

No fortune on this game...

I'd easily take Dalton, matt Ryan, and cam maybe even tannehill ahead of luck. If this were a redraft. If it was actually just for one season like this upcoming year I would take big Ben and romo as well outside of the top 5 that colts warrior listed.

That puts luck at 11 or 12. Which isn't bad but its not great.

Again, cw, what makes him deserve to be the 6th best guy? His average to below average completion % and QB ranking? His questionable decision making? His mediocre accuracy?

Those are not things that you find in an elite QB. His clutch factor doesn't overcome those things. He has shown no improvement from his first game to this last preseason game.

Yes, he made the playoffs. He does play in the worst division in football so he had an easy road. Yes he's the best QB in the division right now but that doesn't mean crap.

You tell me, with good reasoning why Andrew luck is better than Andy Dalton, cam newton, or even Ryan tannehill who has pretty similar stats and eaaaaaasily has always had less to work with than luck.

If you're going to just go with the "watch them play" argument don't waste your time, because I've watched all of them play plenty and I know all of their stats.

So I ask you, logically, you sell me on why Andrew luck should be considered that good and how am I wrong?
I'll answer for him:

1. He's a Colts fan

2. He has bought into the pre draft hype

I don't think Luck is a bad QB. But he is nowhere near elite. And after next season, the team is going to have to pony over a ton of money to pay him. Grigson's mediocre drafting is killing any chance they have at winning the AFC. With the current front offices in Houston, Tennessee and Indy I feel good about the Jaguars chances of taking this division in the next couple years.

I'd consider taking the following QB's over Luck:

(Note: In no real order, and assuming it's a one year deal.  Otherwise age plays a big factor)

1. Peyton Manning

2. Aaron Rodgers

3. Drew Brees

4. Tom Brady

5. Tony Romo

6. Matt Ryan

7. Matthew Stafford

8. Phillip Rivers

9. Ben Rothlisberger

Nick Foles can make the list if he shows it with consistency this year.

Any Rookie can make the list, obviously.  But they won't until they've shown something in the regular season/post season.

Ryan/Stafford/Rivers are in most danger of being knocked off.  Either by improvement by Luck, or lack of showing from them.

At least thats a reasonable list of 9.

I even said that I think Luck is at the lower end of the top 10 QB in this league at this moment.

i know you have never seen a dolphins game in your life and you surely didnt see him in college, but his stats are on par with Luck and he has had much less to work with over the last 2 seasons. again, colts warrior, colts fans, or you (a fan of every other team besides the jaguars) i invite you to logically respond to my last post here.

I do see Dolphins games all the time at the Sports bar on Sundays, and also know some avid Dolphins fans....we all think Tannehill is nothing special.

But thats ok, carry on with the above ridiculousness of taking Tannehill ahead of Luck.
