Going off their first two years in the league they have similar numbers in yards, tds, with Peyton having way more interceptions.
I give Luck the advantage because unlike Manning Luck has 600 yards rushing and 9 TDs where as Manning has 120 yards rushing and 2 tds at this point.
Luck also led a team that was awful to the playoffs in his first year when Manning stayed 3-13
Manning did not get his first playoff win until 2003 his 6th season
Luck did it in his second season
So ya Luck > Manning when comparing their first 2 years fact
but i believe in the long run Luck will be > Manning Opinion

Andrew Luck inherited a team that made the playoffs 13 out of the past 16 seasons, and in the past 10 seasons got to the playoffs 9 times, went to 2 superbowls, won one, and had 9 playoff wins. Peyton Manning inherited a team that hadn't won more than 9 regular season games in 20 years.

Luck inherited a team that was in salary cap hell coming off a 2-14 season
Peyton inherited a team that didn't win more than 9 games in a year in 20 years, although they did go to the afc championship game 3 years before and the playoffs in 96 as well.. and in those twenty years they were .500 or better 7 times.

my bias comes from liking the way Luck plays the game.
I've never seen Luck ball up in the fetal position when the pocket collapses
I've never seen Manning scoop a fumble and superman dive into the endzone
the reason Eli has more super bowls is because he is willing to risk it all for the win, Manning plays the game like a mathematician plays poker. No balls
He relies on the sure thing instead of the occasional unexpected and that sure thing caused a pick 6 in his saints superbowl.
Manning has had more rule changes to help him than probably any other player in the history of the game. He throws a seem pass down the middle of the field and gives Austin Collie a concussion, the very next play he throws the same late arriving pass to Blair White. He is supposed to be a great team mate.
8 one and done's in the playoffs (5 of which he had home field advantage). 6 years to get his first playoff win. A Super Bowl victory run that saw him throw 3 tds and 7 int.
Manning does need to work on his superman dive.

There are somewhere around 8-9 guys ahead of him right now. He could move up for sure but as of right now. Peyton is in the top 3, luck is hovering around 10.

I think he is hovering around 6 and I also think Manning is on the verge of falling apart as a player.
The AFC is weak.
Peyton & Brady are in their own tier then second tier is a tossup between Ben, Rivers, & Luck
I'd take Rodgers, Wilson, Brees, & Eli over Luck.
From the next generation: Wilson > Luck & Cam > RG3 & Kaep. TBD: Foles, Bortles, Teddy, & Manziel (hah)

This is all predicated on careers. If there was a draft with age in mind I'd take luck out of all of those guys based on upside, but that's something that might never come to fruition, which is why those guys who have doing it for a while rank above him right now.

They were comparing Andrew Luck's stats with Andy Dalton's today on Dan Patrick. They did that thing where they listed the stats without listing the player.
2013 season:
Andy Dalton: 4293 yds, 61.9%, 7.33 avg, 88.8 rating, 33 TD, 20 INT
Andrew Luck: 3822 yds, 60.2%, 6.71 avg, 87.0 rating, 23 TD, 9 INT
So after they told Dan Pactrick which one was Andrew Luck, he said he'd by far pick Andrew Lucks stats over Andy Dalton's going on about it's all about turnovers. Without even comparing their play or the teams they play on, I think that's a bunch of garbage. Though Dalton's 33-20 isn't the greatest ratio, he came in 3rd in TDs thrown for the season. In fact, go back through history and find what QBs EVER threw > 30 TDs. All you see are the franchise or elite guys (Brees, Rivers, Romo, Rodgers, P. Manning, Brady, Ryan, Stafford, Favre in past 5 years). You can say Andy Dalton sucks, but he doesn't statistically. Throwing TDs is hard.

Andrew Luck is good but he lives on hype right now. If he was never lauded as much as he was before coming out of college, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. You just hear his name all the time on ESPN and talking heads saying how good he is without actually knowing.
Once again, the potential is there for him to move up the ladder, but right now, all of those guys are better quarterbacks.
