So after they told Dan Pactrick which one was Andrew Luck, he said he'd by far pick Andrew Lucks stats over Andy Dalton's going on about it's all about turnovers. Without even comparing their play or the teams they play on, I think that's a bunch of garbage. Though Dalton's 33-20 isn't the greatest ratio, he came in 3rd in TDs thrown for the season. In fact, go back through history and find what QBs EVER threw > 30 TDs. All you see are the franchise or elite guys (Brees, Rivers, Romo, Rodgers, P. Manning, Brady, Ryan, Stafford, Favre in past 5 years). You can say Andy Dalton sucks, but he doesn't statistically. Throwing TDs is hard.
Dalton's regular season numbers are empty. Look at his playoff performance, then look at Andrew Luck's.
Luck > Dalton.....and not close.

Keep in mind its also a team sport and playoffs are a small percentage of overall careers.

The praise given to Luck by the media (and you) is all about projection and expectation. The projection is he will be an all-time great QB. The expectation is he can break passing records.
At this point in their careers, Dalton and Luck are not that much different. You saying "not close" is based on what?

Dalton, as QB, is certainly part of the playoff struggle.
But, as a Bengals fan, I credit most of their playoff woes at Marvin Lewis's feet.
Before Dalton was even there, the Bengals had been to the playoffs twice (by winning the AFCN), and lost both of those games at home. There have been lots of boneheaded coaching decisions, and a woeful lack of halftime adjustments by the coaches during those games.
Last season vs the Chargers,, it was a tight game for most of it. The Bengals were running the ball very effectively. Dalton was obviously struggling, yet coaching still left it in Dalton's hands. You should've heard the grumblings in the stands about the coaching. I was there, it was ugly.
It was almost the exact same scenario in 2009 vs the Jets. Palmer was QB then, but most of the grumblings were about coaching.
At Houston in 2012,, oh man, coaching was really boneheaded.
Anyway, yeah Dalton has failed in playoffs, but he's very young and has still gotten them there 3 straight years.
Bengals have been to playoffs 5/9 last seasons (winning the division 3 times).

He's not clearly on his way to anything. He's average, and has been for two seasons. Dalton is on the same level as Luck. We'll see if that changes at all this year.
