Yes he was pro ready and thats a good thing, thats what you want when you take a player 1st overall.  You can be Pro ready and not be a finished product, thats usually what you take with the first couple picks especially if its not a QB.  Hutch was far from a finished product. Teams aren't going to take a player that high if they feel hes a finished product, not to mention the consensus number 1 overall pick.  You are the only one or one of the very few that thought he was a finished product.

Eh doesn’t sound like it’s too good then. Lot of folks questioned if he had much room for develop in the league.

They had the same questions about Manning.  Turned out okay I’d think.

A lot of folks didn't question that, you did.  He was the consensus number 1 pick for a reason.  Manning is a QB

Walker 71 tackles
Hutchinson 75 tackles but of course Hutchinson tackles are after the RB already gained 10 yards lol

4.5 to 3.5 this year…. But keep the bias. Hutchinson was supposed to be a finished product coming out, Walker wasn’t. You’d think he’d be further ahead this year than one measley sack if he was superior.

Hutch is a good run defender. Wallet is simply elite there already.

Can you post links then to all these people that was saying he was a finished product as you claimed?

You left out the part about Hutch having 28 quarterback pressures this year compared to only 14 for Walker.

Can you find links that said he was raw and needed development?

That’s fair. But I’ve seen instances of Hutch getting a pressure but absolutely losing containment in doing so. He’s a good player for sure, I’m not sure he’d fit on this defense.

Full disclosure you’re looking for a fight and I’m no longer going to give it to you. I won’t be responding to you further.

No I won't find those links because he wasn't raw.  I wasn't trying to fight, I was just letting you know he wasn't seen as a finished product.  He wouldn't of been the consensus number 1 pick and he wouldn't of went 2nd overall if that was the case.  It's good to see Walker playing better but Hutch would of fit perfectly in this defense

Hutch is a instant fix elite player

Walker is a project long-term player that can be anything with the right coaching

I believe what may have influenced the Jags to question selecting Hutch is the game against Georgia that year. The Georgia left tackle Sayer totally neutralized him.
I see Walker as someone we should stop comparing to Hutch. It’s pointless anyway.
The only question we have to ask is: will Travon Develop into a great player or not.

I think Travon is a pretty good player already. He might be miscast a little so I think his production could improve if used differently.
But I don’t care about hutch or anyone else. I would be good to see Travon get around 8 sacks this year. Combine that with solid run defending and we have a nice player at age 22.

If he becomes a consistent 8-10 sack guy, he becomes someone we want to resign for a long term deal - then I think it’s a success. It comes down to that really. Does Travon get a second contract or do we let him walk? If we fight to keep him here long term, the pick is justified.

We don’t want a cj Henderson, derrick Harvey, Justin Blackmon situation.
Haven't seen much from Treyvon Wallet today

Walker looked good in that first half.  Before the implosion

He was a force in the first half. Really close to 2 sacks and one should of been a sack IMO. The whole team took a beaten in the second half.
ESPN's win rate is a tricky stat.
I posted the link to the breakdown of it a while back and I think it is a valuable tool, BUT...

A player can be credited with "winning" the rep even if it doesn't directly affect the play. So bear that in mind.

Personally - the eye test says Walker is developing and that makes me happy. I take the PFF grades and ESPN win rate stuff with a grain of salt. It IS useful data, just gotta temper it a bit and understand their grading.

Oh it's certainly not the end all be all but it's nice to see some of the stats backing up what myself and others have been seeing.

He has been very good lately. He even had a play where he was held so bad but it wasn't called.
