Hutch has been absolutely dominant. They can't block him.
Hopefully a disruptive force.
Yeah. Hutchinson is very disruptive. I expect Walker to step it up big time. If I am the staff and lockeroom I would remind him daily that we took him over Hutchison.

Our best course of action is going to be to try and convince shad and Trent the draft starts Friday from here on out. Let tony and Doug do the first round.

Solid idea… maybe have a permanent board in his locker of hutch’s updated stat sheet.
Hutchinson's PFF is going to be probably stupid good after this game.

Anything less than 10 sacks for Travon this year would be a disappointment for my expectations.
Think Baalke chose the wrong pass rusher
Y'all are something else LOL. Breathe folks, breathe.

this

you don't roll the dice on an upside pick only to condemn it without letting him realize potential

This isn't one card stud. It's Texas hold 'em - and we haven't even seen the river.
Hutchinson doing work on the interior as well against KC.

Maybe neither are really that great?

I think the same could be said for "rolling the dice" on a #1 pick.... you don't.
A lot of us thought Hutch would be a good pro but Walker had more upside. Hopefully he starts proving us right soon.

It was a tough spot. Hutch should've been the pick, but his ceiling wasn't as sky high as the Bosas, Will Anderson, Myles Garrett. The OTs all had question marks. No one wanted to trade up. It was a "because Jaguars" type draft. Thankfully, saint Trevor came along. He makes everything prior water under the bridge.

So, let's pretend Walker was a late first round pick, the new low production/high potential Chaisson if you will.
They talked about not putting too much on his plate in the beginning. Which I completely understand. But it does baffle me why he's not used inside more. Dudes massive and a freak of an athlete. It's awesome he can cover, but I feel like it would benefit the team way more if they focused him on pass rushing. If we had sacks racking up else where things would be different.

This team would be so much better had they picked Hutch or Sauce.
Last night’s game put a spotlight on Walker. If there was ever a time for him to shine, this is it. Fill his plate. It’s go time in 10 days.

More upside is really just another way of saying looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.

The guy had a highlight tape of him making tackles in coverage. I doubt he ever becomes a player worthy of his draft position.

Picks like that are how the Jaguars could throw away Trevor's career.

Exactly. We can all play this game from either side of the coin. Ultimately, we were all saying we needed a pass rusher last year, we had one looking right at us, we took the upside guy over the more ready to go guy. So far through 18 regular season games? Advantage Hutchinson.

It's OKAY to call that out. Just like it's OKAY to play the wait and see game with Walker. All I am saying is that, based on last night's efforts with Hutchinson being chipped blocked, constantly around Mahomes, chasing down plays from sideline to sideline, etc. Hutchinson really flashed last night.

I am hoping Walker can start the same uptick in consistency or pressure this Sunday and especially against the Chiefs offensive tackles and guard that seemed to struggle at times last night. There's some opportunities, and, again, it's OKAY to hold the #1 [BLEEP] draft pick from his class to a higher set of standards.

FYI. I am probably one of, if not, the biggest Georgia Bulldogs fan on here.
The hyping up of Hutch from last night is a little out of control around here. He played well, but wasn't "dominant" or "unblockable". 2 tackles on the stat sheet, no sacks. At least a couple of QB hits, one of which was blatantly late and should have been called roughing considering how the league has been calling things over the past 10 years or so. Sure he helped collapse the pocket at times and created pressure. I also saw Taylor completely handle him a lot of times as well. I don't recall him ever embarrassing Taylor.

At least one of his hits on Mahomes came off a delayed stunt. Good for him for being relentless, but that doesn't contribute to the description of being "unblockable". He played well for not registering a sack or TFL. Other than that, try and relax a bit. It's still way too early for second guessing and Travon should be much improved as well with a full offseason behind him now. I'm sure many Jaguar fan eyes will be watching him specifically on Sunday.

Again, we can play the other side of the coin with the same people that champion Josh Allen for virtually being the same guy with more years of experience under his belt. Say what you want about Hutchinson. Taylor was playing his [BLEEP] off to get a head start. Something even Collinsworth had to call out routinely to the point to where he said in the 4th quarter late "Oh, finally! Now they're calling him for a false start!"

Hutchinson was getting chipped constantly, they were throwing everything at him to keep him away from Mahomes. It's Mahomes, man. Mahomes. He's one of the slipperiest QB's in the pocket. He was still able to effect him more often than not. At least enough to help hold them to 20 points offensively. And it's not just about last night's game. It's about the full body of work so far. Hutchinson clearly had the better rookie season and last night's game is why he did.

Walker needs to show less guess work in his play this year and more violence, more consistency and more disruption. We'll see if he can do it starting this Sunday. I think he can. I hope he can. That's all we can do.
