The point isn’t that Walker is better than Hutch.
The point is that even when Walker has good games, someone always brings up “Well look at Hutchinson!”

It’s just annoying.
The annoying part is the story isn’t written. As raw as Travon was a rusher I’m not sure we’ll see his best until his 3rd season.
He probably will never be a better pure rusher than Hutch, but I believe he’ll be a better football player. He may already be.

I am watching, he is not impressing me and he still only uses one move to rush the passer. He is not bad, I'd say he is playing ok/good but he is #1 overall and there are 2 guys taken after him playing better.

I see him trying to chop and rip a little bit more actually.
Isn't there yet, but I see him at least making some effort to get around guys sometimes instead of going straight through them.
Hopefully it's the start of something and not just a blip on the radar.

Jags don’t win either titan game last year with Thibs instead of Walker. Y’all like to forget stopping the run is just as important.
Walker has shown bursts of being an absolute game wrecker as a rusher though. A couple series vs KC, early against pitt, this past game, etc. Never more than a few plays or series, but usually a flurry of holds/pressures/ qb hits.
What keeps him from doing that consistently?
Walker's rush skillset wasn't developed in college like his draft opponents. I've been critical of Walker in the past because I was letting stats alone dictate my opinion. If you watch him in a game, despite drawing double teams, he's disruptive. If that means Allen or Muma (on occasion) get the glory, then so be it. Other teams most definitely regard him as a force to be reckoned with.
I think Walker is underrated. The more you watch him specifically, especially when some of these YouTuber's start circling him out and breaking down all of his snaps count-by-count?
He's a pretty damn good football player. Now, while we clearly needed a pass rusher last year, and, we still need one this year opposite of Josh Allen? Walker's still been beyond the word "serviceable".
He really is commanding a lot of looks his way and blocks, chip blocks and added layers of blockers are being specifically flowed into his direction. What's killing us right now, is, a few things.
1. Smoot and Hamilton still coming off of injuries. Which would help tremendously with adding more opportunities lane wise and pocket collapsing wise.
2. Not playing with leads as a team.
That part RIGHT THERE, that's what needs to be in everyone's minds in my opinion. This defense has carried this team all year, and, relatively speaking, it's had no leads to it's advantage to help pin their ears back and get after the QB with the exception of a few games.
It's a two way street sometimes. In order for pass rushers to feast? The offense must also get out to faster starts and leads. That's been missing all year.
He’s really starting to show signs of putting it together. He got cheated out of one sack and missed one by a millisecond. How’s the narrative change if he had landed those 2?

Yup, I've been saying it for weeks. I try and make it a point to watch him every snap he's out there and he has been playing good football.
7 weeks left. I still think he gets a 3+ sack game at some point.

As raw as he was, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has another “year 2” bump next year. Already proving to be a hell of a player but he’s just now figuring out how to effect the passer.
