"I don’t think that Trump can win, frankly, because I don’t think there are enough morons to elect him. A certain percentage of the American public is just morons; that’s the way it is," James wrote in one section. "When you divide the public in two then divide the voters in one of those halves among five candidates or more, a candidate can win by dominating the moron vote because it only takes about one-seventh of the total population to take the 'lead' under those circumstances."

"But in a general election situation, James posited, "when you’re talking about needing 51 percent of the whole population, rather than needing 30 percent of half of the population, you run out of morons. I hope we will."

Nice Op Ed. Those stupid morons supporting Trump, who do they think they are? Thinking auditing the fed, balancing trade, solving illegal immigration, lowering taxes, and revealing the corruption of special interests is a good idea...what maroons!

Lets be smart and support Hillary Clinton or Marco Rubio. They definitely have wall street-err banks-err lobbyist-err illegal immigrants-err Americans in their best interests.

I disagree.

There are enough morons.

Hell yeah, Obama got elected twice!
The Trump train is full steam ahead. Hop on or get left behind!

Quote:Hell yeah, Obama got elected twice!
So did Bush. Well, technically only once but thanks to Katherine Harris it counts as two.

Atta boy, just needs some "Daddy Bush and Ronnie Raygun packed the Supereme Court with deranged conservative 'tards who cost Big Al the presidency that was rightfully his" to be the classic Dem response. You can do it if you try!

Meh, the Supreme Court doesn't bother me because they don't actually have to answer to those who appoint them and either way, both sides try to get their guys in there as much as possible. But reading some of the crap Harris pulled really makes me wonder why she wasn't put in jail.
I love how people can act like Trump is for them when he is clearly all about himself. Hate on Bernie, but his message has been consistently "we are all in this together."

Whereas Trump has been.. America loses. It's because of (insert boogeyman here). He is not running on a platform experience or knowledge. He is not running on a platform of even helping people. He just says.. when I'm president I'm gonna fix (insert perceived issue here) and follows it up with "I guarantee you that." And nobody calls him on it to ask how.

We're gonna deport 11 million people? Good luck with that. How much will that cost? When half of them come back, then what? Oh.. a wall on the border? Are you gonna close every hidden border tunnel too? People think he's gonna lower taxes for the people who need it? Aren't these people takers and losers? People attack Obama on foreign policy.. Trump would be a [BLEEP] nightmare on foreign policy. He's already ticked off enough allies and enemies with his campaign schtick. He cares about two people. Himself and his daughter he wants to bang so badly. The rest of his robot family on stage is awkward to even look at.

Just like the 'Pubs like to blame those liberal appointees for confirming Obamacare...

...oh, wait, Roberts.

It's called strategic exaggeration. It even works to gain supporters.

Try to keep up.

Those are good ideas, the morons are the ones believing Trump will not only do it, but do it the way they think it should be done.

That's the great thing about not being the guy in charge: You don't actually have to say how you're going to fix it, all you have to do is tell people what the problem is (mostly confirming believes they already had) and then blame the people currently in power for letting things get so bad and not doing anything to fix it.

The only way to get rid of these people is to actually elect them into office and let them fail. Unfortunately that also means hamstringing an entire country for four years.

Because she did her job?

So who should I believe will do any of those things since Trump is lying to me?

No one is going to do anything for you that's the point of conservatism

The government is going to do everything for you (whether you like it or not), that's the point of socialism.
Quote:No one is going to do anything for you that's the point of conservatism

So because I believe in the conservative ideology I should just stand by and wait for the government to magically become more conservative? Obviously that isn't going to happen. In this situation for conservatives, you either vote for the person you BELIEVE, based on your own independent research, will transition the government back to its fundamentals, or accept eventually a Pinochet-like authoritarian will come along to force it back. Thomas Jefferson said it himself, "I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical...It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government."

I am not saying Donald Trump is our Pinochet, but if we elect Hillary Clinton or Marco Rubio, I can say it is guaranteed that person will eventually come.
