Quote:James Harrison is so old and he bull rushed him. Is that a confidence thing?

I don't think you know what a bullrush is.
Quote:Bad holding call but he at least held his own tonight. Not sure he was going against any studs though. He needs to finish his blocks.
I watched the play a couple of times and I'm wondering when the hold occurred to be honest.  Sure couldn't see anything from the angle they showed on TV.

Refs were bad all around the league last night. They had some questionable calls to start the Ravens game. Also not to mention they failed to flag OBJ for his late hit and there was a potential PI call on the end zone fade to DRob, defender never turned his head to look for the ball, I'll have to rewatch it again though.
Quote:Could be. It was everyone's first preseason game and the Steelers 2nd. No reason to beat him up because of one miscue.

Who needs a miscue?
I thought it was a hold. Kinda ticky tack though.
Harrison sacked Rodgers for a safety. Guess GB needs to cut their OL too
looked good last night

Yeah, I agree.

So that video is relevant because?
How could he have looked good?  I thought we'd written him off already?

How is this supposed to work, anyway?

1. Player is drafted. Rejoice!

2. Player does not live up to his draft position in the first couple of years. Declare him a bust, wonder aloud why the team would even waste a draft pick on someone that bad and proclaim that you always knew he was terrible.

3. Player improves and looks like a solid starter. Talk about how good he looks out there, and how you always knew he'd work out.

4. Freak out when player is traded/allowed to leave in UFA because he's "one of the best in the league", and the GM is a clueless idiot for "giving him away".

5. Repeat steps 1-4 in perpetuity.
@mike_e_kaye: "Luke [Joeckel] played better overall." Thought overall the OL had a good job on protections. - Bradley.
@HaysCarlyon: Gus says Joeckel played better, especially vs. power. #Jaguars
I don't get why it's verboten to assign credit/criticism where due here.

It's not impossible for a player to play well in one game and poorly in another.

Joeckel got beaten badly by Harrison last week (who, BTW, also beat the Packers' LT for a safety sack on Rodgers today).

He did not get beaten badly in yesterday's game.

Because assigning credit doesn't fit with the credo of "Joeckel is a terrible bust that should never have been drafted".
But assigning blame doesn't fit within the paradigm of "all Jaguars draft picks are flawless until they leave."

That paradigm, sadly, hit life support with the end of the Gene Smith era, and it was mercifully taken out back and put down when Gabbert left. Unfortunately, it was replaced by the "all early Jaguars draft picks are garbage until they make the Pro Bowl" mantra.

Indeed the Steelers front seven were abusing the Packers OL which is supposed to be one of the best OLs in the game. Then again, Bud Dupree was taking names and I don't think he played against the Jaguars.

Dupree rushed against Parnell the whole time he was in.
