Me? What?? I never called Bortles a bust or anything like it. I've believed Blake is a franchise QB from the start. Where are you getting your info from? Faux news?

The thread that JAGANTIUS started got merged into this thread.

Oh sorry. Didn't know. I'm an idiot ha
Quote:Who has said he isn't the weak link on the line

Just before the first preseason game I called him the weak link of the OL and a few posters told me I was wrong.

Quote:Austin Pasztor?  What about him?

I really don't think Pasztor has it in him to play LT, but he does well enough at RT. If a dire situation I can envision Parnell moving over to LT where he has some experience with Pasztor taking over at RT.

I don't think so.

Maybe they thought Beadles was at that time. It's clear now. Overall, I think the line has a chance to be solid though.

You're right. I remember the thread was called "Luke Joeckel The Great"

Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong thread. The thread that Jagantius started claiming that Bortles was garbage was certainly not merged. It was merely locked and can still be found on page one.

All your haters? Your argument is invalid.

The Great what?
As most have said. It wasn't a very deep first round that year and I don't think Caldwell was able to get anyone to jump up for his position in the draft. I don't think Eric Fisher has turned out to be a superstar yet for the Chiefs as it stands today as well. It is what it is. At some point though, you have to consider fixing that LT spot if he's not cutting it consistently enough. I don't like what I've seen so far in preseason out of him. And no disrespect, I know he put on some weight and stated he had a good off-season this year but after getting whooped by Harrison and getting bulldogged into the dirt the other night by Detroit's back-ups I don't like him going into the regular season. Long term.

I don't trust him to get the job done. And knock on wood. I am willing to bet he'll be one of the reasons why Blake may not finish this season more than any other offensive lineman on the team. We can't afford for him to be giving up line drive sacks like Harrison got with a forced fumble where he can get stepped on during a pile up. And we certainly can't afford for him to be getting blasted off his feet and having his big butt falling backwards onto Blake's knee or leg like he did in that Detroit game.

He's not Jonathan Ogden, but he is also not the turnstile some make him out to be. There is NOBODY else on the team who can come close to challenging him for his position. He is still learning and it will certainly be a position addressed in the offseason. I can't overreact because he isn't an out of the box pro bowl tackle.
I still think Luke will figure it out as the season progresses with good coaching.

That being said, there isn't a Parnell of LTs out there somewhere?
Caldrac said it best.... "...we certainly can't afford for him to be getting blasted off his feet and having his big butt falling backwards onto Blake's knee..."

LTs just don't get pancaked by mediocre DE's... I think we have a problem.
Just because we don't have anyone that can play better, doesn't mean he doesn't need to be replaced.

Granted hes not going to be replaced this season, barring a catastrophic meltdown from LJ, but if his play continues like this, I can almost guarantee you he won't be here next season.
No.

I would take that bet

Unless he pulls an incognito, you don't get rid of a second overall pick whose still in his rookie contract...
