Quote:I literally got a text from a friend in the second quarter who I wasn't even talking to and not a Jag fan. He just said "your LT needs to quit football".
LOL.  Other fans are noticing this dude, in a bad way?  Geez, Boselli needs to quit jaguars.com and come put on the pads.

What's the difference?
Just saying... An elite athlete who has worked out his entire life gaining 20 pounds of pure muscle in the first 2 months of the offseason is implausible, at best.

Lots of Koolaid being sucked down with that statement this offseason.

Brian Sexton is still saying this guy is a great talent and blah blah blah...Sexton needs to put the pipe down

Brian Sexton is worse at his job than Luke is at his.
Sam Young, who came in after Joekel because Josh Wells has a finger injury, didn't exactly do much better. It's not an easy position to field. Bowanko is just starting to take reps at the spot, and Gus said he's not even ready to play this preseason there. Simply put, Joekel just needs to get better. I'm hoping we can somehow replace Henne, but there's no way we'd be able to just replace Joekel short of a trade situation.

Bowanko can block at an average NFL level at least. Eventually at some point during the season maybe he can unseat Joeckel who would have given up about 20 sacks before the bye week. With how dominant the middle and right side of the line looks with Blake's mobility I think he can find a comfort zone until then mitigating the damage.

Hahahaha +1
I like Blake's awareness. On a few plays he sensed Joeckel was struggling with his block and either slid away or took off running. He'll need to keep it up if he's going to survive the season.

We can only afford if Henne dies by DL, not Bortles.
Wait, someone thinks Bowanko is the answer at LT? Get serious.

I just rewatched the first half. Sure, Joeckel had a couple negative plays, notably the one that led to the quick throw to AR that got him clobbered/hurt. But, Luke was fine. Not good, but fine.

Joeckel, an absolute mess, and weakest on the line. My friends were all asking who that guy was. The consensus is, if your LT is the worst on your line, doom is abound. #OnHisButtocksYetAgain.
Quote:Idc what anyone says. We should of payed him

Well, if we knew then what we know now, of course we should have paid him.
"Luke Joekel, you are the weakest link" said Jags fans everywhere.

at this point, I'm not even sure if you're serious.

If you play one half of football and have a "couple negative plays" as a LT, you are having a terrible night.

And getting bull rushed onto your butt and right into your QBs legs is a recipe for disaster.
Gotta look to the trade wire to see if there's someone that can come in at LT and at least be serviceable. You can't have Joeckel out there getting Bortles killed.

Lmao he got best on almost every play. Lucky for us Bortles was much faster at getting the ball out or would step up but Joeckel was no where near fine
