That's what I meant. I don't see a scenario where he is not here next year.

Quote:I bet he's still here, though he may not be the starter. If the bad plays continue that is.

Quote:The scenario would be we draft or sign a decent player to replace him, and he is then cut or tradedDoubt it would happen.
Quote:My big thing is the level of expectation everyone has for this guy. There are improvements he is making. If you watch every game there is some contentback getting burned on a play that didn't come his way or some line backer getting pancaked *cough Merriman*. I think this scrutiny is starting to get out of hand. He is entering his third year and is a starting caliber player with still more improvement to make. That is a good starting point in the third year of a LT.
I understand analyzing the performance of a player but sometime it seems like some people take such a hard stance against a player they actually hope and want them to underperform just so their point would be proven. Some prefer this rather than the greater improvement of the team. No one has addressed those plays of Monroe getting handled that were posted in this thread but that's the guy everyone wants back lol.
I'm not saying Luke is dominating but not many third year players are. He is better than last year though and I can see that. We were upset he gave up a few hurries. Really?!? I'll take the no sacks lol

Quote:But there is such a small chance of that happening
Quote:That's what I meant. I don't see a scenario where he is not here next year.I generalized that too much. While he might still be on this roster, if he doesn't turn around his play, they'll be another LT taking his spot.
Quote:Unless he pulls an incognito, you don't get rid of a second overall pick whose still in his rookie contract...Why not? If his play is terrible, he needs to be replaced.
Quote:His play is terrible?Right now, yea it is. I'm not saying he can't turn it around, and that he's not our best option is right now, but his performance has been bad.

If LJ played like Joe Thomas all this season, id be first in line to buy his jersey.

Quote:I'm not convinced that he's terrible, and not sure that can be argued successfully.I disagree, the two bullrushes are just the only plays people talk about. I've watched LJ and I'm my personal opinion, he's decent at run blocking and is near 50/50 on pass blocking.
However, he doesn't have to have played terrible to expect competition next year no matter how well he plays this season.
Other than two bull rushes (one of which didn't even affect the QB) he's played solid this preseason.
