Gotta say, can't believe it's almost been a full year since everything started with me being in the hospital with all those surgeries. Didn't have a Thanksgiving or a Christmas last year because of it, and this year, gonna do it up right for the wife..

My doctor said I was the first patient he's actually seen with the issue. The electrical impulses in my heart are [BLEEP] up.

There is a node (the AV node I believe) within the heart that detects whether the heart is beating as hard as it should. Apparently what is happening is the AV node 'thinks' that my heart isn't beating as fast as it needs to and is erroneously sending signals that it needs to beat harder. This is when my symptoms occur.
He said there are two medications that I could take to control it...or I could do nothing. Given the infrequency of the occurrences and the fact that I know it isn't going to kill me, I chose the nothing route. He said that he thought that was the wise decision and we could always go to the medications if things get worse. Given the possible side-effects of the medications (and I didn't ask until after I had made my decision) I'm glad I went the way that I did. Lack of motivation, lethargy. tiredness, and depression are not any side-effects that I want to deal with.
So I guess bottom line, things are good.
...and I survived my trip to Feenicks.
