Is it on the same side as the broken ankle?

If you're asking same leg...yes.  Since bones were broken on both side on the ankle there really was no 'side' that it was broken on.  I've been told by my physical therapist that he believes there is an issue with my meniscus.  As far as how bad...he thinks I should make an appointment to have my ortho check it out.  I might as well.  All of my medical treatment is free for the rest of the year since I ate up my out-of-pocket with the ankle stuff.

I wonder if its caused by an altered gait as your ankle heals. To a lesser extent, I experienced something similar after severely rolling my ankle years ago.

Altered Gait...wasn't that a movie with William Hurt?

A Meniscus tear for a fella your age with that kind of trauma wouldn't be all that unusual, but it is odd they didnt catch it at first. Maybe the ankle was just so bad it masked the other problem. Sorry your luck didnt improve yet, but you'll get there.

I would have had to tell them to look at it.  The ankle was so bad, I didn't really realize that it was bothering me until I had the surgery already and I was rolling around on the cart.  At the time I thought it was just the position that I had my knee in while I was on the cart.  It's been two weeks since I've gotten out of the boot though.

I'm waiting for them to return my call at this point.  I'm just not sure if it was result of the original fall or maybe (hopefully) just some residual pain from the PT after not using it for two months.  I left a message explaining my dilemma and I'll just wait to see if they think I should come in and have it checked out.

And Pierce Brosnan.
Just spent all night in the damn ER, my leg was cracked open and fluid (not blood) was pouring out of it

Ouch, Drifter. Is it an infection? Hoping it gets better soon.
NO it's not an infection, just a lot of water retention. The cracks (6 of them) are anywhere from a 1/2 inch to an inch long. They were dripping like a leaky faucet. Soaked my sock, my bed, the ambulance stretcher and the hospital bed. Leg is wrapped up now and should be fine in a couple three days

I should have crab legs for dinner tonight.

One of the few times that I actually got a chuckle from one of your posts.   Laughing
I hope all you old people feel better. I remember when this thread was fun.

We need an “Aches and Pains” thread.

Speaking of which, is anyone affected by the First Coast Expressway tolls that are supposed to begin next month? Being a far Westsiiiide denizen, it’s not essential for my wanderings, but it sure is convenient. Some of the quiet two-lane side roads are fixing to become very busy.

It’s been so damn hot lately, I wish I was told that more this week.
Hey, HBD drifter! Just saw that at the bottom of the screen.
