Way to go Darlo! Looking good. Word of advice though, don’t use the pic on the right as your new online dating profile.
I got a job offer to go live in California. Do they got bourbon out there?

Good God the cost of living is interesting out there.  I shudder when my friend that lives in Alameda tells me about his bills, gas, and mortgage.

Well, this job isn't anywhere near Southern or Coastal California.

But it isn't Bakersfield either.

It's in a place called... Slippy? Slappy? Sacksy?... Something like that.

Sacksy+pimiento= Sacramento
Only a couple hundred views and this thread will be the 2nd most viewed thread on the board.  Just a dumb fact. That’s all.
Correction, that may be the old thread.  Was going off the board stats.

What a [BLEEP] start to the day, or end of the day yesterday.  Spent until 1:00am in the veterinary ER with my Golden Retriever.  They think she has cancer in her lungs.  My wife is taking her to a specialist today for more tests to confirm, but it doesn't look good.  Poor dog is the most benevolent creature I've ever met.  It just  pains me to know that whatever time she has left isn't going to be pleasant.  [BLEEP]!  Excuse me while I go into the bathroom and weep some more.
Damn.

Sorry about that Rico. Seems like we've had a slew of puppy exits here lately. Not a fun time.

I’m so sorry Rico! Cancer sucks.
Sorry to hear that Rico!

You parking in our lot or stopping by?  Since it won't be as hot, I believe there will be less of a water consumption percentage anyway this game.

I came in late last week. No time for pre-gaming. Got to my seat about 2 minutes into the 1stQ.  This week I will definitely stop by.

Did you get any better news from the specialist?
Actually worse.  Just got the pathology results back today.  They think it started in her pancreas and has metastisized to her lungs.  She's acting pretty normal right now, other than a cough every once in a while.  Goes for her morning walk.  Eats fine.  Runs around in the yard after the squirrels.  With the news we got today, I'm thinking she's going to decline pretty rapidly.  My wife is pretty shook up about it (not that I'm feeling real great myself).  We'll play it by ear.  If she appears to be in a lot of pain or starts having trouble breathing, we'll start talking about the inevitable.  I'm not even bringing it up now.  Too early.
Sorry to hear that. I just went through this with our hound. We had months to prepare mentally for euthanizing her, but I don't know if it made it any easier. Ugh.

I hope your retriever can keep plugging along w/o major discomfort for a good long while.

(((HUGS)))
Well, just to update on my doggy saga.  Did get some good news.  The doctor was wrong about it starting in her pancreas.  The CT scan on her pancreas came back normal, so she just has a few spots on her lungs.  My wife went ahead and started chemo on her last Friday.  I'm not saying that I wouldn't have done it...but I was never consulted, so it is what it is.  So she has three more treatments the next three Fridays and we see how she is doing.  Maybe I'm just not real trusting of a vet that I'm not familiar with...but I hope this is actually going to do something other than cost a lot of money.  She's still acting normal other than an occasional cough.  But that's the way she's been for the last couple of weeks, so I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
