Good thing I’m not on one, then isn’t it? You can’t say the same about being butthurt. Got a cute gif for that?  Laughing

Super Moderator title, thank you VERY much.
Well the [BLEEP] storm continues here at work. When they had their damage control 'town hall' meeting with the CEO a couple of weeks ago, he assured us that our cost of living/merit increases would be 'in our next pay period'.

Guess what wasn't there today? [BLEEP].

Problem is, if I run now I'll end up travelling and I don't want to do that for a living again.  15 years was plenty.  I'll just hang on here and grumble until they throw me out.  At least I'm getting paid very well to be miserable.

If they threw you out, would you get severance?

Yeah, they'll give me a decent package.  It will give me time to find something.  If worse comes to worse, I will travel.  I know I can find something quickly if I am willing to travel, I have recruiters calling me all the time.  I mean...I have to work.

I frequently present these words to my employer as an interrogative statement.

If you’re not getting the pay you were promised now, what makes you think you’ll get it later? That would worry me!!

They're not mandatory or anything, they just feel really nice.

Where did I insinuate that?  I have a job that any area company is going to have trouble matching salary-wise.  Whether I get the increase or not, I'm still getting paid well.  The bottom line however, the CEO made it a point to say that we would be getting our increases this week.  Quite honestly, I was surprised to hear that to begin with.  Word is that our new Mexican owners thing that us 'Muricans make too much money and I thought there was a real good chance that we wouldn't be getting any bonuses or raises for the foreseeable future.

Why rush out the door and quit only to get a lesser paying job, when they'll need to give me a separation package if they toss me out?  I'm 100% sure I can find some job quickly.

You said that you didn’t get something in your paycheck as promised...

Yeah, you did kinda say they promised something and didn't deliver.
Either way - it sucks you are having to wade through all the stress associated with the job insecurity.
I'm trusting it's only going to open a better opportunity for you that hopefully doesn't require you traveling as much as I do.
Lord knows you're too old for that!!  Tongue

BTW - I may be getting the bowling bug.  Thinking of getting a custom ball drilled. May have to buy you a beer for some advice soon.

Not to belabor the point, but I was talking about this.  Where did I say that 'I thought I would get it later'?

 A'ha!!!  I see now.

...and in reaction to people [BLEEP] (I'm sure) yesterday, we just received an email saying that we would be getting our increases next pay period...retroactive to this past pay period.

I'll believe it when I see it.

On a side...but related...note, that's why so many people in management are frustrated and leaving. Our new owners in Mexico drag their [BLEEP] on everything. It seems to be the culture, or so I'm told.
