Negative. Khan hired the wrong coach and general manager for the job. Both of them had a history of negative press and turmoil where they were previously employed and a lot of it got swept under the rug because of wins and circumstances.

You could put Wilson, Lance, Fields and Jones in Jacksonville and it will still be the same narrative here. Sorry, just facts. Lawrence has the unfortunate task of being the face of a franchise that has been horrendous all but twice in the last 21 years.

Even when they had those 2 years of success they managed to implode due to poor ownership decisions. Anyone comparing Jones to Lawrence is also futile and lacking in education as well.

Belichick has the best defense in football which is something he historically puts together very well on the grand majority of the teams he's ever coached and dropped an NFL record setting $140M in free agency to bury the fact Brady literally walked away from a roster devoid of talent.

Any rookie QB, ever, if you put him on this offense, would fail spectacularly.  I mean that seriously.

Any rookie quarterback who has ever entered the league would have face-planted if he was put on this offense.

What they did with Trevor Lawrence is criminal.  They ought to be put in jail.
I don't think Lawrence was the wrong pick but we've ruined him at this point. Only thrown one TD since October and is gonna turn into Gabbert if we keep letting him get run after like this.

You can tell he has zero confidence back there and there's no way next year is going to be much better.

No rookie would look this awful.

The lawrence homerism is really amusing on this board.
It is all Lawrence's fault. They should have kept Tebow and got some picks for Trevor.

So is the hate. Wilson has looked horrible. Lance hasn't had to play or carry his team. Fields has been up and down and is injured.

Jones is the best of the group but he's playing with a HoF coach on a $140M revamped roster coming off a win where he only had 3 pass attempts with the best defense in football.

You're just another delusional [BLEEP] looking to be a contrarian because you're bored. Probably at least three or four of you on here like this.

It's cute.

I wish we had a good RB to take pressure off our rookie QB...
Yeah rooting for Trevor to fail is ridiculous. He has to improve or this franchise has gone bust. We have to get the right pieces around him. This off-season you have to spend whatever it takes to do that (including taking the hit on firing Meyer). Now if we are still drafting high in next years (2023) draft, then I think you really consider taking another qb.
Again, we have “fans” delighting in glee at this. That should tell you all you need to know about their “opinions”
35.52 passer rating. Three of his INTs weren't even close to the receiver. He plays in shotgun/spread almost every snap. He's unable to play under center.

Get this guy a new QB coach because he's an A-Grade Bust right now. This team needs a new OC and entire coaching suite on the offensive side of the ball.

(By the way, I read UM's sour disposition after this game as either no quality OC will come to him or that he's not been given the authority to make the call on the new OC. Regardless, it looks to me like he's not in control of the decision-making on offensive coaching.)
Maybe Trevor wouldn't look so lost if he had some help. The receivers look more like volleyball players out there. They can't catch and now, they can't even run routes without tackling one another. It's so ridiculously bad that it's embarrassing. The only reason Laviska Shenault still has a job, is because we are so thin at WR. I don't care how high Shenault was drafted, that guy is a detriment to this team.
yes this team is a total train wreck on offense. I would spend big and draft offensive players. Right now, it’s hard to assess anything because it’s all bad on offense.
How do you lose 20 - 0? Seems like the defense at least showed up. Why can't we maintain a competitive team at all when "rebuilding". What a mess. Lawrence will just be the latest first overall bust. Should have just kept Minshew and drafted someone who could catch or block.
Honest to God, can it get any worse?

Please stop saying that.

I agree he needs to get out of the Shotgun. Leftwich limited our offense bc he was more effective out of the gun. Garrard comes in with the same team and the offense looks like it’s supposed to. You’ve gotta be able to go under center and step back in the shotgun. He’s in the gun way too much.

The WRs are horrid, yes, but so is TL.  He sucks.  And he still would suck with the top three wide outs in the game.  His accuracy is crap, largely because he's throwing late so steaming the ball which decreases accuracy.  And also because his reads are progessing poorly so he's either throwing across his body or away from it, rarely in line with it.  This guy needs new coaching and intensive film study.

Bench him.  Put CJ so the offense can start to run normally before the end of the year.  Send TL back to school so he's got a shot at next year.

(At least he isn't hitting the booze four nights a week like Johnny Football)

Another dumb post  Laughing Laughing Laughing

Trevor IS NOT a generational talent but these coaches are some of the worst ever. These guys would make any rookie (Manning, Brady, Burrow etc) look like a bust.

What a terrible take.

What’s the point of putting CJ in? The offense to run normally? You really think it’ll be better with CJ? Trevor had ZERO TIME to throw today. I hope he does whatever it takes to learn the throws he can and can’t get away with (like Manning) and then jumps in year 2 with a new staff.

Playing CJ is just stupid right now. Kinda like when they keep starting Wingard instead of Cisco or Taylor instead of Little.
