Quote:What would be the point be in even making the playoffs if the expense is getting such with an awful draft pick, no qb, and a first round exit?
You make it sound as if a good QB cannot be found in the draft outside of Bridgewater and that's incredibly dense thinking and not even remotely true.
Quote:Its hard to get the number 1 pick. Right now we are still the favorites for it though.
Please stop the freaking out and save it for the next time we win.
Keep in mind the person who made this thread was not someone freaking out about missing the #1 pick.
Quote:Weirder things have happened. I'm just saying that the Jaguars are in a position where they wouldn't need an impossible amount of help to make the wildcard if they somehow won out.
The race is so ridiculous this year that if the Jags had won in Arizona, we'd be talking about the Jaguars controlling their own destiny.
What was the odds when the giants were 0-6? Real talk I wanna know lol

The further out of the top half of the first round you go, the much more it requires luck. I'd rather not have to deal with that after we had Gabbert crippling our franchise.
Quote:And Teddy Bridgewater may not be the best player in the draft. Or he might even be a bust.
You want a really really lousy team, just so you can get the first pick in the draft. I don't.
Quote:No, I don't want a really lousy team. We already have a really lousy team.
You beat me to it.
Quote:I agree TMD...what did we really win by beating Indy that last game? I'd say in the end we lost. Take a look at our point differential this year...I did...Its -182. The next closest is the Jets at -101. Houston is -90. So we likely just handed Houston the #1 pick in the draft (look at their schedule, they have the upper hand) and they are back on their way to competing for the Division next season and we will all be back here 1 year from now looking up from the bottom of the league tables. It is a must that we lose to Houston in two weeks...a must.
I agree with the above.
Quote:Alex smith has a similar scouting report like teddy
I've seen both play. One has always been a game manager and one is actually a legit take command QB that has the capability of putting a team on his back and winning a game. I'll let you figure out which is which.
Quote:Colts fans were CRUSHED when they lost to us and had to take Luck.
I know, right?...
Quote:Winning that game also didn't change the draft order.
And if it were the last game of the year, that would give us solace. If we end up with the top pick, then I'll be glad we beat them. But right now, it looks way too likely that we let them grab it down the stretch, and I don't like that prospect.
Quote:The odds of the Jaguars making the playoffs are .002%
what was the odds when the giants were 0-6? I'm really curious

Read his draft scouting report genius. They are eerily similar. Not saying teddy will be smith but still worth a read.
Quote:It's gonna happen until our next game sadly. But its really entertaining
Its just dumb. Rooting for the team to lose during the game is fine and I do it as well. But realize that all players and coaches want to win and are going to give it their all. Theres no point in being upset if they win, theres nothing we can do about it.
Quote:What was so impressive about the 2 Jags wins this season? In both cases, it wasn't the Jaguars showing some kind of impressive dominating performance; making big plays all over. It was more about the other team being so bad.
The wins did nothing to help our chances of finally getting out of being in this position again next season.,,,,and we just might have helped another division rival get the stud QB that we need.
Thats just great. Go team.
Are you a football fan or a politician?

.22% Currently they have a 1.8% chance to make the playoffs.

Don't we still hold the top pick?
Quote:You must be a guy that only evaluates QB by stats only.
Teddy has command of the QB position that is top notch and while he's not better than guys like Luck/ Aikman/ Manning, he's certainly good enough that he deserves to be mentioned in their class.
Teddy has arguably one negative - his smallish frame. Thats it.
Theres nothing else regarding the position that Teddy doesn't rate very high.
If I evaluated on stats wouldnt i be all for Teddy? Arent his stats good?

Our GM can IR and cut people. I expect the players to try and win. Our front office has some control though. Look at Houston. You really think they are kicking the tires on Keenum? He is awful, everyone can see. They are playing him because it increases the odds of them losing.

I'm sure Kubiak is TRYING to coach his way out of a job.
And, perhaps, his career.

I didn't think he was awful. His line didn't help his cause and there were a couple of drops. He was underline pressure most of the time.

lol, u obviously didnt see Schaub play this year
I have been to home games. Have made food for elite Jags fans tailgate for us all to share. I have many pics and a few videos of our game day experience. I was very lucky to be invited to the number one Jaguars fanatic party. And see all his Jaguars paint and custom merchandise. My old lady took pictures with Jaxson Deville. My son had a blast in ever bank.
Even when was back in CT. Always wore Jaguars stuff. Always rooted for the Jaguars. I moved to Jax for the Jaguars. And prior to that never missed a game since 95. If I could not watch it would sit in my car listening on radio or internet or go to away games.
I pay overnight shipping for new merchandise. Difference between me and you TMD you just run your mouth. I love the Jags win or lose. 0-16 or 16-0
You want us to tank to secure our future. id rather trade down to get more players to secure our future. Or get a true difference maker in Clowney. See if you cant rush a passer. You wont win many playoff games. Even with a Elite qb. Cause I know one guy wont change a franchise.
How good is aikman with out his supporting cast? And like I said before 49ers won 7 superbowls with out a number one pick. New England did it. Didn't the Giants win with the back up? Flacco? Big ben was not number 1 was he? I can go on and on. As for luck He has a top flight DE pass rusher. And Manning had 2 basically all his career. And Denver's Defense is really good as well. None we have.
Geeezusss....who cares? How have the Jags first round picks turned out so far in the last few years?
If one plays the odds and statistical analysis, the Jags first round pick will mean zip.
Oh yeah, we have Caldwell now.
Remember the..ohhh. The Ravens screwed up. The Jaguars jumped at the chance and grabed Byron Leftwich?
Just play. Get improvement. Have something to build on, and pray they don't screw up another draft.
Thank God we have a punter already.

Yea, don't want to put Matt " The Widow maker" Schaub in.
Schaub has played in 3 more games than Keenum, yet Keenum has matched TDs and only has 1 int to Schaub's 9. He is just as bad as Keenum, if not worse.
