Quote:I'm not the only one that thinks the Colts tanked or that teams have/ do.
If they were tanking, Gabbert would have been re-inserted back into the starting lineup at some point. He hasn't been. Thats how I see it. If the Jags were tanking they don't win that game vs the Texans - you don't open the door for more teams a chance to get the #1 pick.
I think Gabbert being re-inserted into our starting lineup would have stunted the potential growth of some our young players, plus it would have discredited everything that coach Bradley has been preaching, ie "competition".... Therefore, like I said - we can't have it both ways. Coach Bradley has to have his guys believe in him and his ways of doing things. Giving Gabbert the starting job back after his performances would have shot all of Bradleys credibility with this team.

Personally, I think the real tank move is to play Scott or Stanzi. Everybody knows Henne and Gabbert are bad. Everyone assumes Scott and Stanzi are bad. But they could get away with pulling a "let's see what we have" on those guys, and both would almost certainly, shockingly, be even worse.

Its almost too late for that now though....the Texans have caught us, and I have little doubt the Jags beat the Texans again in a few weeks.

Somehow, you'll never get that. The NFL just doesn't work the way your think or say it does, TMD.
And you insult our team by saying they're too dumb to throw a game, and the Texans when you say they're "smart" enough to lose. Why don't you smile and pat J.J. Watt on the back and tell him that, and see where that gets you.

Quote:No. and the above point has already been discussed/ explained. Players won't lie down on purpose. But a strategic personnel inclusion (i,e, bad player/ raw young player) or 2 into the starting lineups can generate the desired outcome regardless. And when things start to go bad, the other players will start to lag. Look at this past Jags Texans game as a template. They left Case Keenum in there. He brought everyone on that team down.
This is just pathetic to watch. You don't actually believe this. It's just the most outrageous thing you can say to get attention on this message board.
Congrats?

Talk about an endless supply of tears..
Congrats?

I always arrive late to these parties... If I may derail this thread a bit...
If we wind up sweeping the t'horns and the t'acks while splitting with the c'lots I would consider this season a success. Even if it means we pick 5th.
On a side note, I'm glad to see it isn't me that has found Luck's performance to be less than Manning-esque. He doesn't look very accurate on passes past 20 yards this year. I've only watched a few of his games, but from what I've seen, he's has a tendency to overthrow his deep throws. Not that he can't correct it, but like I said, I haven't be all that impressed with him this year.

I think Luck's struggles show you just how great Manning was/is. I don't know that there will ever be a better prospect at that position.

Yes, I'm sure the Colts players are just regretting their owner's decision to tank that year as they make the playoffs for the 2nd straight year, when without getting Luck, they'd have likely been an also-ran for these past 2 seasons...

No, I do believe it happened. I'm not naive enough to believe that the billion dollar NFL is as pristine squeaky clean as you apparently do.

LOL, thats 5 wins right there....we're not drafting "5th" with a 5-11 record, sport....try like somewhere from 7th to 9th.

When was Manning ever down to the lame offensive weapons that the Colts currently are putting out there as a starting lineup??
He always at least had a Harrison/ Wayne or both. As well as a better running game than they have now.

I see past the short sightedness. I root for whatever is best for my team having a long term period of high level success. Greater good theory.

Hey, try it my way. You might be happier. You'd certainly be more correct.
