Quote:So losing 38-8 and 41-11 two of the last three weeks is 'doing fine'?
I laugh when Luck is always included in the same sentence as Manning before the period in the sentence. People are so brainwashed by him. Hopefully Pep Hamilton is his OC his entire career and wrecks it.
Quote:That whole team has struggled since the loss of Wayne. They have no running game, and now have no bona-fide legit WR1. TY Hilton isn't that. Hilton is more of an Alvin Harper to Michael Irvin rather than being someone who can thrive on his own. Its like I have always said, Tiny WR can rarely make it as stand alone outside WR's in this league. They are generally players that need a supporting cast to take some of the focus away to really shine.
Saying "They have no running game" is also saying "They have no GM".
Works out well for us!
Quote:What will make this comedic man crush even funnier is when Bridgewater announces he is staying for his senior year at Louisville.
Not gonna happen, for a number of reasons that have been beaten to death on this board.
Quote:I don't dislike Bridgewater. I'd be fine with the team drafting him. But, I think TMD and his tendency to want to portray himself as the smartest guy in the conversation is a little tiresome, and whining incessantly the way he does after a win borders on the pathetic. Someone that obsessed with losing is someone accustomed to doing so.
You call his game unimpressive and say that he doesn't live up to the hype, yet you'd be okay drafting him?
Quote:You're gloating over a 2-9 record?
Seriously?
MTE.
Quote:Or Tim Couch or Jamarcus Russell or David Carr.
Ooops, I forgot to add, and Teddy Bridgewater.
Please stop. I don't think Bridgewater will be the next Peyton Manning, but his work ethic alone separates him from Jamarcus and he is better than David Carr in every QB trait imaginable, except for maybe hair.
Quote:What young players are showing you all that much that you are so impressed?
This team looks just as bad to me as as it was 3 weeks ago....they just ran into an easier schedule. It was never "the worst team of all time". Its probably still the worst team in the NFL, though,....just won't be rewarded for it
You don't seem to remember how we lost something like 14 games in a row by double digits, rarely even being competitive, no matter whom we were playing against. That was an all time NFL record for futility.
Or perhaps you have forgotten how people were saying we need to fire Bradley and Caldwell. Or how we need to cut Branch. Or how people were saying our draft picks were all busts.
This is the difference between 1-15 and 5-11. 1-15 puts the coaching staff and the GM on the hot seat. So we would get Teddy B, but our coach and GM would have one foot out the door, and our draft picks would be widely regarded as failures.

Then you should be rolling on the floor when Teddy Bridgewater is included in the same sentence.

False statement. You believe Khan would fire a GM after ONE draft when his #1 pick is on IR and his other picks are showing decent progress?
Quote:Seeing positive results for drastic changes isn't meaningless to anyone but the fans and couch GM's. to these guys it's proof what they're doing will work and for the young guys we plan on building around its vital they buy in.
I'm still convinced its about selection not position In the draft
That's pretty deep. Or at least it would be, if it wasn't immediately apparent that position limits selection.
Quote:I laugh when Luck is always included in the same sentence as Manning before the period in the sentence. People are so brainwashed by him. Hopefully Pep Hamilton is his OC his entire career and wrecks it.
Luck is overrated, and the Colts are overrated. Russell Wilson is the best QB from that draft.
Quote:They play to win the game.
I'd rather they play to win for the next decade.

I think the loss of Bruce Arians was huge for that team, also. Pep has been a downgrade.

True. That trade has turned out horrible. Hopefully that GM stays there for 5 more years...

LOL, so 2 unimpressive wins so far changes the outlook that much to you?

Pep has been underwhelming at best, but he has nothing to do with Luck's inaccuracy as a passer.

The "decent progress" you cite is reflected in the results of the last 3 weeks.
Quote:All this hand wringing by the usual suspects and the team is still in line for the first pick.
http://www.bigcatcountry.com/2013/11/25/...aker-order
The "hand wringing" is because perceptive people can see where this is heading. The Jags will beat the Texans again in 2 weeks and then beat the Colts when they rest their starters in week 17, thus putting the Jags on the outside looking in, yet again, when a top flight QB is the prize at the top of the draft. That QB will then go to a division rival and the same people championing these late season meaningless wins will be making the excuses for the next decade how we cannot be expected to beat teams like the Texans & Colts with Luck & Bridgewater at the helm.....its like 2000-2010 all over again....
Quote:That's pretty deep. Or at least it would be, if it wasn't immediately apparent that position limits selection.
Thats what the same people refuse to see or cannot see.
Quote:I'd rather they play to win for the next decade.
You want grown men to swallow their pride and throw a game they are paid to professionally play and coach.
Quote:LOL, so 2 unimpressive wins so far changes the outlook that much to you?
Yes, absolutely. How many times must I say it? Those 2 wins mean we have a coaching staff that can get an 0-8 team to keep playing hard. Those 2 wins mean our team is making progress, and that our young players are making progress, and that Caldwell didn't totally screw up free agency, like has happened in the past. YES, those two wins change the outlook. That's what I'm saying. Winning is a measure of progress. No progress would mean the coaching staff, the GM, and the players stink. Well, they don't stink as bad as some of us thought. That is a good thing.
I love how people quote Herm Edwards "they play to win the game".
He was one of the worst coaches ever and was fired after a few years when his philosophy and message was not getting through to his players.
... that said, i must admit not being the laughingstock of the NFL kind of feels good.
Quote:You want grown men to swallow their pride and throw a game they are paid to professionally play and coach.
No, this has been discussed already. A strategic player or 2 inserted into the starting lineup (Gabbert) can get the desired outcome. The players won't purposely lie down.

He may have been an awful coach, yes, but that does not mean that statement is false by any means.

I don't think Bridgewater is the sure thing you are making him out to be. I was in that camp at one point. But after watching every game this year, I just don't see it. I fully was hoping to watch him play and come away being excited that he was going to be our pick. And honestly, I haven't. What is it about Bridgewater that has you so excited? And so sure it's sure doom if we don't get him?
