I dont like the idea of "tanking" however this team should be in evaluation mode. There is no point in playing Henne, he's not going to get better he is what he is. MJD should be getting 10 touches a game while guys like Todman should also get more touches.
No player actually tanks. Contracts are not guaranteed so a lot of these guys are playing for jobs.
Quote:So, to be clear, I am correct in the fact that you advocate cheating as means to an end? Pathetic.
How is it cheating? The NFL has created this problem with the importance of the QB being at an all time high due to their "rules" that benefit the passing game constantly being implemented, so now when teams manipulate to get the desired outcome and their QB, you label it cheating. Hate to say it, but no rules were broken.
Quote:Yeah, the guy with the questionable work ethic that doesn't play as important a position as the other guy - who has high level skills, top notch football IQ, character & work ethic has much better odds of being successful in the NFL....
I see you agree with me. Bridgewater's tiny, scrawny, "slight frame" will have him broken quickly.

Hate him as you may, he does have a valid point here.

If it has to be explained you do not possess the ability to understand it.

Maybe, maybe not. If Bridgewater was a QB that was known for holding onto the ball for too long, then perhaps, but he's not...Bridgewater is quick and accurate through his progressions and smart with the football, and unlike a guy like Michael Vick, knows when to slide and protect himself.
Quote:I would take Clowney with the #1. Bridgewater's odds of being successful at the NFL level are much lower.
I don't think they are much lower. Especially given the character concerns surrounding Clowney. People like to dismiss them. Then again, they liked to dismiss the character concerns surrounding Blackmon
too.
If I were a GM on a team that needed a QB, I don't think I'd wait until the 2nd round for a QB in a draft where the QB's are supposed to be
deep. Not for Clowney. I wouldn't risk my career on a gamble in the 2nd round at the most important position in the game. To quote Vic Ketchman:
Quote:
The best and worst all have hits and misses, but the best all hit on one player, the quarterback.

If all these rules are in place now, does it not make it easier to field a QB with less than elite skills and he can still be successful? Recent history says yes.

The NFL has not created a problem, because there is no such problem.

It isn't a problem, but it is a fact. The NFL has placed a premium on the passing game and rules protecting the QB.
Quote:oh, ok.
You can spend 12 hours a day everyday of your life trying to make everybody else as paranoid as you. But it won't change the facts. No NFL teams are tanking.

I don't think anybody has disputed that. It's been that way for almost 10 years. It doesn't really have anything to do with this thread.

Actually it isn't. First round DE's pan out about less than half of first round QB's.

LOL, because of different verbage you agree with him (StroudCrowd1) but disagree with me. We're both making the same point. smh....

Who has said the NFL has not changed rules to make passing the ball easier? Nobody. And it really doesn't have anything to do with this thread. You tried to say that these rules changes have somehow led to teams tanking to get a quarterback. And that just isn't the case.

I am basing my prediction on the two individuals in question, not the position.

And Clowney's character is in question. His chances of success in the NFL aren't as high as people believed they would be last year.
Is this the longest TMD argument thread ever?
