Quote:I saw the game, but changed to another game when it was over so I missed the interview. That said, it would really make little sense for Teddy to stay for another season. He graduates next month and its not like Louisville is going to be any sort of realistic chance for a national title next season, plus I don't think Teddy's value will ever be higher than right now. He probably would not be drafted above Winston.
I agree but I've seen stranger things. Matt Barkley was a sure fire top 10 pick before he foolishly decided to go back to school.
Matt Barkley is a good reason as to why Teddy should and will leave and go to the draft.
Players and coaches don't tank. They want to win at all costs.
I don't understand how some of you can't see that.
Houston is not tanking. They are losing cause they flat out suck. Same with Indy in 2011. If they were tanking, they wouldn't have won two games.

Indy tanked. Fans across the NFL joked about what Indy was doing.
They knew everything there was to know about Andrew Luck. They cooked up an old 2006 disc injury as an excuse to red-shirt Peyton Manning, and signed a sixteen year veteran, Kerry Collins to do whatever.
The entire football operations was burned out, ready to leave and decided to pass the torch.
The two wins came way late in the season after it was clear they would not be challenged for first over-all.
We could have blown it for Indy, but "Alibi" Jack Del Rio was too stupid or too busy dreaming about USC, or checking out early to care what the Jaguars did. Then when he got fired the team was trying to win in order to keep Mel Tucker as head coach.
We had the final decision to blow up Indy's chances of drafting Luck and we didn't get it done.
are u the new TMD?

No, he's right, teams don't tank. Indy didn't tank. What you're saying is asinine.
Quote:Your acting like people want to tank just to see the team suck, people who want to tank are saying it for a better long term future, saying suck on it is just dumb, we are all Jaguar fans and are happy to win no reason for that kind of attitude.
How about saying suck on this win to the Texans and their fans
I feel like the team has regained its sense of pride for the city and national scene. We were getting butchered across the nation and now they have someone else to whip on for a change. I feel a weight being taken off our team with this stretch of decent play.
I know it's probably the best thing to lose out, but the jags aren't going to just go to the huddle and say " lets suck real bad today so we can get a rookie out of Lousville or a rookie out of SC next year, aight? "
And as a true fan of this organization, I for one, do not have the heart to hope my team loses against a rival opponent that I can't stand, or any team in general.

TANKERS?

I don't see another win on the Texans schedule.
I think the Jags lose to the Browns, win against the Texans, and win against the Tacks.
We'll probably be 4-12, so no Teddy for us
Texans are definitely going to draft Teddy if they have the #1 pick.
Quote:You know the hype manning and luck got yeah teddy doesn't even have half that and a few people don't even have him as the best overall prospect in the draft.
This is my thought as well. Even Geno Smith got more hype than Bridgewater is getting. I firmly recall having to suffer through many SportCenters in the early part of the 2012 college season watching his highlights. I sometimes don't even know that Teddy Bridge is even playing. How good can this guy be? Media coverage is of course not a measure of a QB's prospects. But if the dude isn't even mentioned all that much, how great of a future talent can he be? Luck's last year in college was a 5 month infomercial for him on ESPN. Teddy B? LOL, Lindsey Vonn has got more ESPN publicity than he has.
Why everyone is freaking out over him just baffles me.
As for the win... Great win! That opening drive was awesome. I hope we can discuss that at some point this week. Also, the D is looking very good as well. I'm seeing some progress where I really didn't expect to see any... I'll take that win now and worry about the draft at some un-disclosed time somewhere in the future.

I heard the fake doctors used fake blood when they performed the fake surgeries on Manning's fake injury.

I'm just using this post as an example in regards to the concept of losing out to get the #1 pick.
If you can foresee us winning more games than other teams, does that not mean that we are not deserving of the #1 pick? Basically if you can see us winning more games than the Texans or the Vikings, then we are a better team, and thus will have a draft spot that reflects our record.
If we go 4-12 or 3-13 and wind up with the 3rd pick as opposed to the 1st or 2nd, there's really nothing we can do about it. These types of things just shake out the way they do. As long as we continue to rebuild and develop the talent we have/get, we'll become competitive. At this point, that's all we can hope for.
Yeah, I'm hoping for the #1 or #2 pick in this years draft. But if our team is better than 2 other teams and we drop to 3rd or even, GOD FORBID---- The 4th pick in the draft, well, that's just how it pans out for us. If Caldwell can draft very very well, we'll be successful no matter where we pick.
You're gloating over a 2-9 record?
Seriously?
BUT THE OZONE SAID WE WOULD HAVE MAYBE 5 WINS THIS SEASON!!! why is everyone so suprised...

He's certainly trolling very hard
Meaningless wins....
We found out we have at least two young players on defense who can actually make plays to win real games in the NFL.
Finding young players who can win games, Isn't that the motivation behind the whole "tank for Teddy" thing is to position ourselves to acquire someone who we hope can make some game winning plays one day?
Discovering young game winning playmakers on your roster should hardly be called meaningless.

I tend to notice the people whining the loudest about the team winning are usually the ones whining the loudest when the team loses.
Considering almost every positive (other than MJD) from yesterday was because of the play of the young guys I don't see negatives.
Seeing positive results for drastic changes isn't meaningless to anyone but the fans and couch GM's. to these guys it's proof what they're doing will work and for the young guys we plan on building around its vital they buy in.
I'm still convinced its about selection not position In the draft
