They stagger starts in order to keep groups from running up on each other. There's a method, and if you tee off at 7:20 instead of 7:19, you're backing up the entire schedule. At more popular courses, that's not good.
I'll tell you why I like bowling. I can still compete with and beat all of the young whippersnappers.
....and beer.

Where I play, a minute late at tee time results in a long line at the windmill hole.
