It must be really stinky where you are!

Horrible last couple of days.  My Lab bit my wife on her face, for pretty much no reason.  Spent half a day in the ER and just got back from the plastic surgeon.  Had to have animal control come and get Sammi about an hour ago.  I know she bit my wife but she's been in our family for 11 years and my wife is just as upset as me.  I feel like such a heel right now.  I'll get over it but it's going to take a few days.  This sucks.

Sorry to hear that Rico, I had friends go through a similar situation recently.


I hope your wife's healing well.

So here is the damage she inflicted.  The one by the mouth was the worst, she actually ripped her top lip in half and has stitches on the inside and outside of her mouth.  The one that was the scariest to me was how close she came to her eye.  All that aside, it didn't make it any easier to turn her over to animal control yesterday.  Especially since I had to help get her in the truck because she was so scared.  That's an image I won't be able to shake for a while.  I'm just feeling kind of sad today.  Oddly, we both already miss her.  I just can't risk her being alone with my wife while I'm gone all day.  If she has to break up a tiff between Sammi and my Golden again, she could turn on my wife.

 

That's what I keep telling myself anyway.  It's not helping right now.

So, sorry for bringing everybody down.

I really don't think she meant it.  I just think she's old and losing her mental capacities.  The dog that is.

 

A tiny bit of good news.  They allowed me to transfer her from animal control to our vet so she can spend her remaining time around people that she knows (she had a mandatory 10-day quarantine to observe her for rabies).

 

And the swelling in my wife's face has gone done quite a bit in the last couple of days.  She'll have a small scar on her upper lip, but she's a trooper. 

Just finished my 2nd interview for a promotion at work. Might be headed go Gainesville in a few weeks. Fingers crossed would be another big bump in pay.
