Trevor is off of the bust bus for this week. A great game next week and he can leave the station.
I said this in another thread but it bears saying again- from watching the highlights, Trevor's accuracy is striking. It doesn't matter if he's rolling left, or rolling right, or standing in the pocket, those passes were extremely accurate.

He presented a potential highlight reel gift to Agnew. If only Agnew had his arms together.
That was an incredible game by Trevor Lawrence. He made quick decisions and made good throws.

The Kirk Konnection is on point.

So 17 games hes played exactly as i predicted, but because he finally had a good game my stance is wrong? Talk about pure delusion

No

He did not play as you predicted.

You simply are too stupid to evaluate his rookie year performance while factoring in the clown show he was saddled with.
Instead of being smart enough to recognize his moments of great play as a rookie as precursors to his ability in a better situation, you chose to seek out anything that would support your feeble draft prospect evaluation.

If you had been as smart as you seem to think you are after he was drafted, you'd have just said "here are some weaknesses in Trevor's game that I think will take time to overcome in the NFL."

But you didn't. You called him horrendous, the worst in the league, you insulted every fan here who disagreed with you repeatedly. At year's end last season you said you saw no reason for hope.  You repeatedly tried to assign blame to him for mistakes that were in no way his fault, and now you continue to double down on your terrible takes even though, week after week, he's putting lots of good reps on tape now that he has competent receivers, coaching, and play calling + a full offseason of work as the #1 with said coaches.

He's doing exactly what your detractors said he'd do -  and your troll job is resembling a vaudevillian performance of spinning plates as you scramble to keep them all from crashing to the stage and shattering.

Here's a hint: They are all gonna break. Just give up. You were spectacularly wrong.

Be quiet you nut hugger!
I’m avoiding huge pendulum swing declarations only because that’s exactly what the troll does.

Trevor faces a strong LA defense next week and i can some rookie level mistakes happening. Which will unfortunately only add more fuel to this guys song and dance

They forced Carr into 3 interceptions in week 1. Mack and Bosa are no joke. Derwin and JC Jackson hold down the secondary. Then add in the fact the Jags are notoriously bad on the west coast. I'm enjoying this week now because I don't know what's going to happen next week.

Yeah pretty much. This is a work in progress. Honestly I can't remember Wide Receivers being this open in so long. Nice to have real coaches this year.

Edit:
I really liked the idea of having Bryon Leftwich come back and I think he would be doing a good job here but for where this franchise is right now, this is probably a better path forward. I am not so sure I am still rah rah on the GM but he did some off season work that can quiet me down.

And I don't need to see everything as W's this year. Being competitive and seeing competent play does help with feeling better week to week.

Next week's game vs. the Chargers will be very tough. If Herbert gets "shot up" enough to play, I'd be happy with a competitive game. After such a great win, it is unfortunate the Jags get two road games against top 10 teams in the NFL.

When we have JRob and ETN, he doesn't need to pass for 300 yards to be successful

@He does if I'm starting him on my fantasy team@

That was a strategic destruction of a team from start to finish. You could tell the goal was lengthy drives, not splashy track meet. The team did precisely what was needed to limit a team that SHOULD have been relying on their run game to beat us. Still have no idea how Reich thought 9 carries by their best player was the key to winning today.

And if anyone wants to start lauding Tua's statline as the expectation, a snippet from SBN:
Quote:Despite throwing FIFTY times on Sunday, only five attempts required him to throw more than 20 yards through the air. Half of his total pass attempts only asked him to throw five yards or less downfield.

Both players got the dub. Both fanbases should be happy with their QB's performance.

I don't think Indy touched TLaw on a dropback. The only way he got his jersey dirty today were a few scripted scrambles. That's huge. Let's hope that the coaches can continue to scheme this way in the future, it suits Trevor to a T.

But he had five incompletions....

He put a ton of flawless execution on tape yesterday.

Of course he'll face tougher defenses, but when you trash the kid as much as clown-jag-boy has, yesterday's performance flies in the face of all the herp-derpity scrambling for things to bash.

Next week is a tough test for him. Looking forward to it.
Outside of the first half last week, Trevor's last three games have been great. I've said it before and I'll say it again... this is his real rookie year.

The Jags indeed called it plenty.

Take note haw many of those passes were well placed with "touch" on the ball. Zero laser beams on the short stuff today.
Second year QB making those standard second year QB steps. Love to see it.

@Yer such a blind homer@

...there's a reason Agnew started out as a DB Tongue
This was Trevor's best NFL game. No doubt about it. Now he needs to string some more together. The Clots DL is horrible in pass rush so the table was set, but it was clear Trevor looked decisive yesterday and he got the ball out fast.
Let’s not forget that 2 of his 5 incompletions were drops, so really only truly 3 incompletions on him all day

Okay let me stop you, right there big boy. My original take on Trevor prior to him joining the jags was that he was overrated, and he was. I would have still drafted him at 1 that year because regardless of how over hyped i thought he was, he still was the qb in that class with the most potential.  My entire issue with him wasnt even the guy himself, it was everyone in the world trying to tell me this guy was the next andrew luck.. when i heard that i got extremely curious and watched every single drop back he took at clemson. He overall played well, but for the most part what i saw was a gifted physical specimen bullying less talented teams, and aside from the first alabama game he struggled against equal competition. He had and still has accuracy inconsistencies and he makes decisions that i cant understand.

I never said he was horrendous, you are putting words in my mouth by chosing to ignore context. The post of me saying that word, was a reaction in a game day thread when he threw over the head of a wide open wr in the endzone where i said “that was horrendus”

Furthermore i do admit, i do sometimes try to stoke the fire a bit on this forum specifically to rile you and the other moderator up because its funny. But the truth is yesterday he played a much improved game and gave us some hope that hes turning the corner. You may think i dont like the jaguars because of my harsh critics of goldy locks but the truth is im just tired of caving into the mediocrity of this team. I tried to convince myself every year that blaine was gonna turn it around, same with blake and even with minshew… i did the same thing you do and ignore all the bad and say well he did this one thing well so maybe it will workout.

I have no more patience for this team, i want to see winning football again. For the time being, it looks like were on the right track so fingers crossed

Now jokes aside, i really hope trevor can get a w against herbert this week because this is his first test against an elite qb…

There you go again. "You" think he's overrated so everyone else is wrong. You don't think he's the next Andrew Luck so everyone else is wrong. Then you try to make some janky comparison that isn't close to apples to apples to prove your point. Then you double down and try to defend your flawed reasoning. Then you try to say you're just trolling everyone when even you can no longer swallow your bull [BLEEP]? We're not riled up at you, we're mocking you. And you've certainly earned it.
