Good luck with that. hasn't been a good look for you thus far and is likely to get worse.

Lol, you've seen much worse play and you know it.

He will. Plenty of football left to get better. Hopefully get to see more of his legs inside the red zone. He's very rhythm based as a passer. As slow and as much as they stall on their opening drives I am surprised Pederson and Taylor haven't come out and ran a no huddle with him.
Would like to see that a few times this year. Maybe even this Sunday. I notice Reid does that with Mahomes. McDermott also does it with Allen. They'll call short and simple plays too.
Roll out left, roll out right, run play, screen pass to the TE/RB. Just get the kid moving early and let him get outside of the pocket to loosen up. Maybe they'll put the damn ball in the end zone for once on their opener.
Go out with a split back formation / gun where you have Etienne, Robinson with Agnew in the slot and Kirk and Zay Jones on the outside. That [BLEEP] would be fun to see.

Agreed, some want us to continue to keep doing the same things but I agree. We need to change it up a little and try to get Trev in a rhythm early

Let me guess… you think Zach Wilson and Justin Fields are making better progress, don’t you? Got news for ya: Lawrence has more TDs, more passing yards and fewer INTs this season so far than both of them COMBINED, which was NOT the case last season.
You can be ignorant all you want, but there’s no way in hell I’d take those two over T-Law.

He’s playing better than the other qbs in his class. He has a higher ceiling than those guys. He is making mistakes and not playing as well as I think he can and eventually will, but he is looking much better than last year. I think he was instrumental in the 2 wins. I think he put the Jags in position to win last week in Indy and I think the D has to make a stop in that position. If the D makes a critical stop in week 1 and last week, this team is 4-2. The other 2 losses are on Lawrence. Too many mistakes in Philly and he has to find ways to put up points in games like Houston.
10-21-2022, 05:15 PM
He absolutely is a rhythm passer. Would love to see more play action with 2/3 reads, along with some rollouts and bootlegs. If it ain’t there, pull it down and run it for 6/7 yards. Those type of plays can really get the offense going.

Ok. You win that argument no one has made.
Sigh. I never said drafting him was wrong. I am saying that unfortunately it hasn’t worked out. And further, I’m saying he’ll be a career backup unless he turns it around big time by the end of next season. And even further, I’m saying I highly doubt he’ll be able to turn it around. I thought he may be benched by the mid point of this year and replaced by a traded in journeyman QB, but he’s just hanging on well enough to avoid that. He puts some more turds together like he did against Philly and Texas, though, and CJ will be taking the team.

I don’t know man, I think the kid is better than he was last year. I thought he turned the corner against the Chargers. The Philly game was pretty bad, but I’m willing to give him more time.

What did he not do last week other than throw bombs? There were grumbling about the red zone offense, rightfully so. He ran it in 2x. I heard from the trolls, but he folds under pressure and can’t lead a game winning drive. He led the team down for the go ahead touchdown. So is it his fault the D crumbled? He did more than enough to win last week.
I’d argue he’s done more than enough to win 3 times. Further, I put game 1 on the D. That was a big lead they let get away. By my count that’s 4/6 games in his second year with new coaches, new players etc. that he has not put the team in position to lose.
Some people want him to win these games on his own and throw for 400 yards and 4 tds but then the same people cry about him making hero ball plays/mistakes.
Is he the second coming of Joe Montana? No, not right now. Is he a bust and career backup? ? Hell no… not yet.

They just have to complain about something they say he can't have a game-winning drive then he does it... then they focus on something else.... I had a guy complaining because he ran into touchdowns instead of throwing them I mean seriously...

We live in a world that has grown accustomed to instant gratification. We essentially live in an idiocracy. Temper your expectations of everyone else being rational adults and this place and social media in general starts to make a lot more sense.
