Stafford, Russ, Matt Ryan, Big Ben, Kurt Warner, Favre, Aikman, Marino, Bledsoe, Elway, Brees, and Terry Bradshaw have had 5 interception games too.

It's just insane to me how perfect people are expecting these QBs to play at all times.

Honestly the RZ INT is the only one I'm mad at Trevor about. The fumbles I'm putting on weather, good defense by Eagles, bad protection by OL.... play calling perhaps. Not to absolve Trev. completely. Just thinking a multiple fumble game is probably an outlier or aberration.

that was the most fumbles in a game by one player since like the 80s.. it's pretty bad.

If you hyenas had any emotional control then you would know I was pro-TL when he was drafted.  I noted the criticism of him out of Clemson but expected him to develop out of them.  Instead, as last season progressed it looked like he was settling into them. In the most tepid posts possible, I merely pointed out that he was making some fundamental mistakes and boy did you mob not sit well with that.  No mature conversations for you.  Ok, well I see how this forum works.


Keep an eye on this:

* Cannot pre-snap read the defense.  He is fooled by basic stunts.  When was the last time we say TL adjust the formation at the line?  He only runs the play called, as it is called.  Short passes work against this for a time, but DCs adjust.

* Throws late, when a receiver is already open, rather than in anticipation of the play.  This is a direct contributor to drop rate since it gives DBs time to adjust and, counter intuitively in the NFL but not in D1, increases pressure on the receiver.

* Has zero pocket skills.  He runs when he should stay.  He stays when the blitz is on and he should dump or run.

* His fit are only set when he has an utterly clean pocket.  If there’s any pressure at all he’s dancing on his toes like a ballerina and tries to make hero throws with all arm, no body.


These are FUNDAMENTAL quarterback skills in the NFL.  You can adjust play calling for a while but opponents quickly learn which plays are in your range.  TL must learn these skills and fast or his will be a backup by the end of next season.  Judge for yourself.  If you stop being emotional jackals hunting in packs any person who has a mild criticism then you won’t attract trollish behaviour.  But trolls are all you get because you behave like children.

Lawrence reminds me sooooo much of Sam darnold, the type of QB who will make a few “wow” plays and just enough for organizations to say “look at his potential” its insane

I also have watched how the narrative quickly changed from this “generational CANT miss, turn your franchise around QB” to now this constant excuses on why he sucks

Tbh I see nothing generational about his game 

-arm talent ? From all the QBs in his class I would have to give that to Zach Wilson 

-pocket presence? I would say Mac Jones and Davis Mills from this class 

- overall Athletic ability? Justin Fields has the best from that class 

On top of it he has this long throwing motion, look at how Zach Wilson can just flick his risk

TL16 evidently has a problem w/wet balls. Wearing gloves should correct this issue. I hope that he's encouraged to do so.

The int and the fumble it looked like he knocked off his own hip while scrambling on fourth down were the turnovers I'd blame on him. Not good by any means, but the team's disaster was the play calling. The wind and rain yesterday made for terrible passing weather. The Jaguars were able to run the ball with decent success. For some reason Pederson decided to call a lot more passes than runs even when we were already ahead. I'm not sure what the deal was, but he had to see the wind dramatically shifting kicks and passes, and also the series of drops. That he was so committed to the pass was pretty crazy. It also had the effect of wearing out the defense as we repeatedly went three and out.

Also the offensive line's inability to pass block got exposed. When they look good it has been mostly due to Trevor and scheme.

I hear that he will be giving out full sized Butterfingers candy bars for Halloween while wearing gloves.

Trevor was always going to have another bad game and guess what…. He will have another one at some point too.

Dude is clearly the best QB from that class and has every single tool you want from your franchise guy. He’s 22 man.

but can the excuses stop too? It's not always coaches, offensive line, receivers or playbook. Sometimes it's Trevor.

Trevor has had two good and two bad games this season. He and the coaches need to fix his various issues quickly. I want to hear their assessment of yesterday's game to understand what the problem was in their opinion.

I also believe the 'generational' thing is affecting everyone, including those that claim it doesn't. Some people are disappointed by his play because he's supposed to be something better than he is. Others are blaming everyone else but Trevor because they can't believe a 'generational' talent would be so bad.

Trevor was bad. But I won't be killing the kid for having a rough day in a torrential downpour. Let's see him rebound against Houston at home. Perfect "get right" scenario coming up

I don't hear a ton of excuses for Trevor...all I see everybody agrees that he had a bad day.... The only thing I say is last year was a bust It doesn't count don't even look at it...He's completely starting over this year.... And whoever said generational talent was supposed to come out in the first year and be Tom Brady or Patrick mahomes... He's 22 years old He's played in less than 20 games.... last year was an utter disaster with coaching staff ...You might think those are excuses... but they are merely  facts

You're merely stating an opinion while I'm using actual data AND the eye test. Mac Jones and Davis Mills? Get a grip.

Jalen Hurts played in the same weather Lawrence played in. Our defense was the problem. The Eagles went for it just about every 4th down and converted.

Lawrence just had a bad game. It happens.

I think we can do without the trolls, because everyone is already depressed enough. No need to kick the fans while they are are down.

I agree he was good college as the article points out but just like other predraft forecast that had him billed as a “generational talent” they are wrong.

the things projected from college haven’t translated to the nfl because if they did we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

You’re overselling bad in week 1.  Not as good as weeks 2 and 3, but he wasn’t bad in week 1. There were lapses by several players in key moments that contributed to that loss, including Trevor, but he was decent in week 1.

There’s no excuse making here.  If I comment on something, it’s generally because I’ve rewatched it and looked for where the lapse happened on bad plays.  It’s very lazy to look at a play where the QB throws a pick, or takes a sack, or fumbles, etc and just assign blame to him without looking at the line and the receiver. It’s also lazy to use stats solely to make conclusions.  A pick thrown on a deep pass into opposing territory is not the same as a pick 6 or picks thrown on your own side of the field like Bortles did with great regularity.  Also, fumbles in wet conditions are not the same as the above when evaluating a QB’s viability in this league.  There’s no reason to panic because of them.   

I haven’t re-watched yesterday’s game yet, but even if some blame comes off of Trevor on a few plays or is shared with another player, I’m expecting to still come away critical of him.  I’m ok with it because of the conditions and because of what I said above.  Things are probably never as good or as bad as they seem.  The ball bounced heavily in the Eagles favor yesterday.
