He posts Tannehill-esque numbers.

The volume that Pederson has given him he should do way better than posting 200 yards games with two thrown TDs. That's simply not enough.

This is what happens when you have a QB who lacks football IQ and accuracy

He’s had jimmy G type games and clowns around here think he’s arrived Lmaooo

This fan base is top 10 in the delusional department

I was never big on Lawrence. He was one of the most overrated QBs coming out. I've seen plenty of him at Clemson to understand that his game wont translate well in the NFL.

The better this organization recognizes this the better is for the future.

Bro Lawrence is Sam Darnold 2.0
Looks like we upped our moron count again this week.

We’ve been below average in that metric for a bit.  There was bound to be some regression back to the mean.

Hey, whatever floats your boat.
I'm not here to judge your personal life.
Big Grin

So far, 90% of the Zach Wilson > Lawrence pushers around here have been j-e-t-s-f-a-n-b-o-y-s , and you seem no different.
Please excuse the assumption if inaccurate.

very true, we could be dealing with an lady. Kinda rude for you to assume like that.

You realize you are part of the higher count right?

Nah, probably not.

He literally already did that. Week 2 and Week 3 and yet here we are.

If Trevor fails, Baalke and Pederson won't be here so there's no reason for them to look for replacements. They live and die by Trevor.

I am aware that he did that, hence, "He needs to string together ANOTHER two or three weeks of good performances". He needs to do MORE of that and less of what he's done in weeks four and five. Pretty sure we're in agreement on that one.

Also, I am not so sure Baalke and Pederson are shown the door if Lawrence is failing to get it done by the end of next year. No disrespect to Lawrence but Pederson has a proven track record and he's shown he's capable of fixing QB's.

Again, it's not like Pederson is telling Lawrence to throw interceptions in the redzone and endzone and put the football on the ground four times in one game. When your number is called? Do your damn job. That's the reality of being a professional. Nobody cares about last year. It's what you're doing NOW.

And right now? He's not passing the eye test over the last two weeks. It's as simple as that. Also, given Khan's track record? He was patient with Bradley/Caldwell, he was patient with Marrone/Caldwell, that was with Bortles in the middle of it all. Hell, had the news not made it to the public there's a good chance Coughlin still has a job here.

I don't think they "live or die" by Trevor. I think Trevor is on his own if he doesn't start showing more consistently good things out there on the football field Vs. the bad things he's been doing over the last two weeks. With all that said. Wouldn't shock me at all if Pederson, Baalke and Lawrence, for better or worse, are ALL still here in 2024.

The thing that gets me about this stance:

Before the season began, the vast majority of realistic expectations fell in the 6-7 win realm. Less than a third of the way into the season, we've reached a third of the expectation, and everyone is clamoring like we're trotting Gabbert out once more in a 3-win season.

If we get to mid season and the same crap is happening and we're still stuck on 2 wins, absolutely, we got problems, and big ones at that. Till then, give it a minute.

Call a spade a spade when you see it. If you don't think playing efficient football is impressive at this level you're just an [BLEEP].

Wow dude. Really? Your exception level for a QB is very very low. Maybe watch some real QBs play than come back and tell me if what you see in him is remotely close to what you see in Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Herbert

1) look at the rest of the roster around those players in their first and second years
2) we're done here.

Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

I never said hr needs 400 yards, I was curious did he hit it yet? Because it seems as if the volume is there under Pederson and he delivers nothing but mediocre game managing stats. Call it effiecent all you want but you don't win games like that.

so you're saying you're too dumb or lazy to quickly google a simple stat request?

I ain't gonna run that errand for you.

Think about gameplan. Think about roster. Which WR on this team in the past two years do you think are capable of carrying a 400 yard passing game? If we get wins by game management, how horribad is that? Cripes, look at the roller coaster we had with Bortles - he might have had a better arm or better receivers, but his poor decisions ended up in picks six, passes bonking linemen in the head, or careening off an RB's foot. Give me efficient and less prone to crippling turnover any day.

Get your face out of stat sheets. Look at the routes Pederson's running in his offense. 40 passes a game, sure, but 90% are underneath/short routes and the mindset is to move chains rather than consume yards in bunches. As long as the chains move, ain't a thing wrong with that plan. Would it be better if the plan was chuck it 35 yards downfield, into the waiting arms of a Free Safety?

Do you think that word is offensive enough to go through the trouble of filtering it out?

Are we in middle school here or something?

maybe we are in middle school, then.

In case you wanted more Lawrence insight.

I think Trevor continually having his eyes down field and trying to make those second level throws is a good thing for us now. He's not captain checkdown. We have complained year after year about our QBs not being able to push the ball down field. Now, we have a QB who wants to push it down field and is learning when to check it down. He's working out the kinks in year 2 under Pederson when he should have done this in year 1.

I'm glad he's not starting out as a checkdown guy and then trying to figure out how to hit the second level throws.

This is the 2022 season, not 2021 or the 2021 roster. This team signed a big time WR in Kirk. So it's not like Lawrence doesnt have weapons to put up big numbers..... theres plenty of other QBs in different teams with no weapons.

Seems like its pretty much excuses for the posterboy child in this board.

I'm fine with the statement that Lawrence is better than Bortles. (That's not who you should be comparing him too) I'm also fine with game managers, but theres a fine line that comes with that. Dont expect him to carry this team..... hopefully Pederson realizes this and makes this offense balanced.

They were. Game managers put those numbers up weekly.

See Cousins, Tannehill & Carr.

Has lawrence thrown for 4 TDs or even racked up 400 yards yet? Doubtful.

If he had, you'd just be giving us a list of crappy QBs who have accomplished those deeds.

You clearly have no idea what it's been like around here...  Hopeful is about as excited as anyone around here has gotten under any circumstance so far.  The only over-the-top takes are coming from our new visitors, such as yourself

I know how keen you are to look things up...Kirk's average depth of target is about a yard shy (10.75 over 4 yrs in AZ vs 9.5 in 39 targets in JAX), so we are throwing to him, and not just dinking and dunking.

So unless Kirk is putting up 300 a game, who else is gonna contribute to that 400? Dan Arnold? MJJ and his consistent 30-50 yards a game?

If we're dismissing 2021, you expect TLaw to have put up 400-yard games in the first 5 this season? I'd like to see how many of the so-called elites had 400-yard games in their first 22 starts.
