Diarrhea storm
1st and goal at the 1 yard line.... Your OL really can't get you 1 [BLEEP] yard? Zero faith in them? No clue why they tried to get so cute there. Slam that RB into the middle 4 straight times if that's what it takes. All you need is 1 yard, stop running sideways when you only need 1 FFS.
Defense did well, our offense looked unprepared and lost. Trevor looked like a lost puppy dog , he had a really bad game, so did Kirk, Travis and the entire offensive line…

Play calling was all over the place, we did not play to our strengths, all these weapons and this is what they put up?

This team is not ready too be elite, the O played like trash…

Exactly.

This was the second biggest issue I had in this Chiefs game. We have ETN who always manages to fall forward, a RB selected in the 3rd round for that exact scenario, and a 6'6" QB who could sneak it in there.

Our coaches overthink some obvious playcalls at times. I get sometimes where a little razzle-dazzle is needed and works, but I feel like we have been leaning into that a little too much recently.
I'm ecstatic that this thread was created because the play calling via. today's game was SUSPECT to say the least. We're in the Red Zone and we don't call running plays. 4th. and what, 12 and we don't take the points in the Red Zone. We needed two scores to potentially win the game and we pass on the FG. That decision, Doug's stuck a dagger in us.

Our offense stunk it up today and I'm sincerely hoping that today's performances will be evaluated and corrected.

Time Will Tell.

NH3...
Last week i took issue with 3 or 4 calls

No big deal

This week the number doubled

Not good

Combined with giving mahomes a short field when we did is what lost this game.  Wallbash
Too many short passes and drops. That Agnew fumble hurts bad. Another stupid play call to put Agnew in that position. None of those type plays worked much vs the chiefs.

I thought that’s why we drafted Bigsby….a pounder for short yardage situations.
Lots of head scratching today.

Bad play calling and bad play by our offense except for a couple
Of players
Doug pederson has always been aggressive on 4th downs. He did it last week too, we just converted the most important one making the prior failures unimportant.

I always hear people say statiscally going for it on 4th every time is the best choice. I am not sure that is the case with our Jags. Just dont have the beef to get it done. Dont know, on the one hand being confident enough to do this should help our team gain confidence. Just seems like its revealing our flaws right now.

Either way, this is who Doug is and I dont think he will stop. Its a high risk reward and we will see if this team is good enough to get the reward like the eagles.

Yeah, the coaching staff let this team down.

Yes, there were drops.  Yes the O-Line is suspect.

But damn, we had this game.  But let's face it.  This KC team is still the class of the AFC.  Their Defense is monster and Mahommes is the best QB in the league and we gave them all they could handle.

We'll see them again in January.  But damn, the offensive coaching needs to really get their [BLEEP] together.  It was just not acceptable on so many levels.
I have no idea who that team was I watched today.

Same team from last year. Slow starters. Poor line play. Questionable play calls and decision making. Unless the line play improves.

This is another 9 or 10 win squad that barely wins the South and is either one and done in the play offs or gets bounced in the divisional round.

What is doubly disappointing is that KC handed us the opportunity to take the lead on multiple occasions with turnovers and penalties, and yet we could not capitalize. Doug better get his [BLEEP] together.

Is OC Press Taylor playcalling hurting the offense? The offensive line has been an issue, but there were chances to make plays, and the Jaguars just missed them. QB Trevor Lawrence overthrew an open Zay Jones in the end zone, Lawrence missed Calvin Ridley in the back of the end zone, Christian Kirk dropped a third-down pass, and Jamal Agnew fumbled a lateral. The unit didn't play cleanly (just 4.2 yards per play), but it was more related to OL issues and execution than playcalling.

That's Mike DiRoco's take. ^

If the interior O-line doesn’t get it together play calling is irrelevant.

Yes.  That Oline against chris Jones? 0 faith. Absolutely.

Naw, dude.  This team actually has superior talent now.  And we didn't even really start slow.  We were moving the ball consistently.  What killed us was on key downs and distance we called up a Bull [BLEEP] play, or we decided to gamble instead of doing the correct thing and take points.  Or we decided to go for it on 4th and 5 at mid field while our Defense was eating KC's lunch and gave them a short feild instead of pinning them back at the 10 or less.

This is not the old Jags that had a crap QB, slow WRs, and Giraffe for a TE.  No, this offense has ballers at all skill positions.  It's legitimately the offensive coaching staff that is shooting us in the foot.  Yeah, the O-Line is suspect, but man, we still could have and should have won this game.  We gave them 7 points at the end of the 2nd Quarter.  7 Points!  WE should have punted and our D would have stopped them.

Then we went for a 4th and goal instead of kicking the FG.  That's 10 points swung in our direction that we threw away.  This game was ours.  Our coaches threw it away, and they need to be held accountable for it.

Last year we all jumped on Trevor Lawrence for his terrible play in London against Denver.  Trevor stepped up, apologized and said he'd never do it again.  The fans and the Jax media needs to hold Pederson to the fire on this.  He needs to take responsibility for this loss.  He needs to apologize to the team.  And he needs to ensure this doesn't happen again.  Press Taylor can be the OC.  But he is not capable of being a successful play caller or a successful play designer.  Doug needs to say he's taking over the offense.  Or, if he's too old and tired to do that type of intensive work, he needs to retire and let's bring in Eric Bienemy or another Offensive Minded coach that will not screw over the talent on this team.

It didn’t during the last half of last season, if what Doug said is true. It seemed very conservative today. And that cross field pass by Kirk to ETN. Why, that was cuter than a basket of kittens. Wth was that?
