I'm sure you know this.

Sure wish you were a Jets fan instead....

Go away. lol

Why cause i want the team to improve? Because i won't accept mediocrity. Actually, i would take mediocrity at this point. We, as fans expect improvement and we are not getting that in the win column. That's on Gus.

That's not entirely true. We've won 3 of our last 5. How is that not improvement in the win column?

This team is more than capable of winning more than 4 games at this point. Even look at the wins, they are not impressive.

One day the argument will be " remember that one time Gus led us to 3-4 wins and in the division hunt". I can't believe fans are actually waiting for this joke of a coach to prove he's not worthy. Lol. He's 11-32. But I agree though. We should give him till this time next year just to be sure.

I know right, the mediocrity by some on this board amazes me.

They're scared of breaking something that's already broken unfortunately. It's being scared of change. I give Gus credit for having the team play hard and never giving up. One day that might be a good trait to have and actually work in our favor. But he's a terrible head coach. That's not to knock him as a person or even a coach and motivator. But he's just not head coach material. He's not even second rate. Here are the 2 main issues I have with Gus. He doesn't attack exploits or teams weaknesses in game or even given 10 days to prepare. For example, you don't let Phillip rivers sit back in the pocket all game long. It called for disguising stunts and what not. I don't recall one corner blitz. I know the rebuttal would be to blame that on babbich and not Gus but that's false. Gus is a defensive coach and should've demanded that from babich.

My second issue with Gus is that they're not executing in the redzone and scoring touchdowns. They have completely given up hope on the run and do not create misdirection. They simply line up in a vanilla formation and teams are not scared. No qbs roll out or hot routes. It's pretty much line up and beat your man. But when they can't the offense is stuck because we have zero creativity. That's on Gus for not having any thing to do with the offense.

was this loss really on Gus?

Is it really Bradley's fault that Clem and Branch collectively suck really bad?

On defense, the lack off a pass rush, and STUPID offsides penalties really hurt us.

And on offense, well...

Bortles has to shoulder this one. And I'm a big pro-Bortles guy. But twice throwing from beyond the LOS.... smh, can't do that dude.

And the INTs right before half gifting the opponents points....

All-in-all, however, this season is going about how I expected it. And while a win (surely possible) would have been nice...

I think it's nicer to let all the AFCS division title/playoffs go on that back burner.... (that is off)

we're not there. We're good in spots. Good in spurts, love what I see between the 20's (mostly)

I don't know what changes will take place... but next year is gonna a good year for us. Bortles, Yeldon, the Allens....

couple spots on D are shining stars too, just surrounded by too much inept talent.

I would be OK with drafting 6 D-linemen and a FS this offseason.

We never blame the player and always blame the coach (at least in Jacksonville). I mean, heaven forbid these millionaires actually doing what they are paid to do.

They showed a visual for how long it takes Rivers to get the ball out. Very quick, which means blitzing him is dangerous. Heck, we dropped so many in coverage and he still burned us, can you imagine if we tried to blitz? Even when Clemons and Branch got a head start, they STILL didn't get near him. We have no rush.
Quote: For example: Branch played the most snaps among the DL yesterday, yes BRANCH.

I was specifically watching Branch yesterday...it was like groundhog day, truly.  He attempted to bullrush the tackle, run into him, push him back a few feet, then the ball was out.  Rinse and repeat.  It was quite remarkable, in the worst sense.
We need a few additions, granted.

However, it just seems to go from 'playoff contenders' to 'no hopers' on the balance of one win or loss..

Our results going into this game (in recent weeks) weren't atrocious...

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't care how ugly a win is, I'd rather win ugly, that play well and lose (and you can do such a thing).

Go watch the game again. On the few occasions or maybe just the one time we brought actual pressure on a 3rd and long situation rivers had Antonio gates wide open for a touch down. Instead rivers panicked and threw it out of bounds. That's what pressure does. If he beats you he beats you. But what we do is allow the qb to get a rythem and pick spots and more importantly burn clock with bortles on the sideline.

By the way the one where we dropped eight in coverage they played way off their man and then house fell down. So I would've rather again on 3rd and long bring the pressure. But nope that's an ill prepared team players and coaches and that falls squarely on Gus.

Rivers against extra pressure: 2 of 5 for 46 yards. (Two other plays negated by penalty.) One of drop backs was goal line with six blockers

No. Definitely not. It was all on me. I was the one who assembled this wonderful coaching staff which will one day take home a Lombardy trophy. I was the one who prepared the players. I was the one who motivated the players. I was the one who studied the game film to point out the weaknesses and what needed to improve for our players. I was the one who placed accountability on players... I was the one who did it all so it was on me, not Gus.

I'd take my chances because we all saw what rivers does with time to pick you apart. Rivers and the line felt the pressure when we brought it.

Why bother to hire a coach at all? Just throw these millionaire professionals out there and let them do their job.

I was agreeing with you.

Clearly rushing 4 wasn't working at all. Seems very stubborn to continue that.
Branch was terrible yesterday and he played the most snaps. Enough said.
There's plenty of Head Coaches on here at times, perhaps the team should employ one of us?

Just an idea..
