Lol at people talking about overpaying Vernon after what we did yesterday
How can they afford that
I gotta give it to Dave not throwing it all in. That's crazy!

Quote:But Jackson is.

He's getting paid even more than Jackson.
The team is built! No need to have a sense of urgency. No need to over spend. We got this, right?
Quote:Bigger deal than Jacksons.

Would rather have Malik.

Hahahahahaha no way.

We didn't break any records with the Jackson deal.

Yeah, he is. 14M per with a chance to push it to 15M. A cash strapped Denver team offered him 11-12M per in the final hour.

Check the numbers
Quote:Yea, I was thinking the same thing.  i expected to overpay, it is FA after all, but WOW, just WOW.

Good for the Giants I guess.  They better hope he pans out at that price!

Even before this signing,  what came to mind is what must Tom Coughlin be thinking today after he had to deal with an undermanned Giants injury depleted Defense this past season,  TC is a borderline Hall of Fame Coach but it's difficult to win with enough consistency when you don't have the horses.
Albert Breer on Twitter: "Yes, the Giants beat out the Jags for Olivier Vernon. But another darkhorse emerged today -- the crosstown NY Jets. Simply got too pricey."

The Jets bid on him too.

You have to have a limit though. It was a bidding war. Disappointing is understatement, but wow, that's ridiculous money.
Sooo if Dave was concentrating all his attention to Vernon and he let all the guards and CBs slip from him because of that then this is a fail.

Quote:Hahahahahaha no way.
Oh my lord dude. If you're serious than you are so [BLEEP] wrong.

Vernon had a whopping 7.5 sacks last year as an edge rusher, whose job is to get sacks. That is underwhelming as [BLEEP].
Gipson is going to negotiate with us to drive his price up and sign a deal with an actual football team. Why escape the Browns and then go sign with Browns South? Makes no sense.
Can't wait to see all the people who were making fun of those being critical of the Jackson deal numbers as "what do you care, it's not your money, we have it so spend it" saying good riddance to Vernon because it's too much money.

Wayyyy too much
Lol Vernon ain't worth that much
Gipson and Smith and I'll be happy.
Hell throw in Ayers on a cheap deal.
