#Jaguars signed LT Kelvin Beachum to a 1-yr, $4.5M deal… with a 4-year option worth $40M, source said. Creative with Beachum off an ACL

Ok that's awesome. We get to make him prove it and if he does then we get him at a very reasonable price. Love it.

Assuming Rapoport's wording is correct, I can't recall a player ever receiving an option like that. That's good news for us though, it's pretty much the ultimate prove it deal.

If we pick up the option it's going to overage out to $8.9 AAV, tied for 13th highest contract. That ranking will obviously drop even more every year with the new LTs that hit the market. Years 3-4-5 of this deal are going to be such a steal.

I love John Idzik. He was a terrible GM but his cap management and contract negotiation is second to none.

Jaguars hosted TE Harry Innis, from England, for a workout today, per source. <a class="bbc_url" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Jaguars?src=hash'>#Jaguars</a>

That's almost as good as Harry Colon.

<p class="">The Russell Okung deal is actually structured as a one-year, $5m deal with a team option for the final four years at $12m per year.

That makes more sense.

<p class=""><a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Packers?src=hash'>#Packers</a> LB Mike Neal has visited the <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Seahawks?src=hash'>#Seahawks</a> and <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Lions?src=hash'>#Lions</a>, source said.

If Beachum can play at the level he was before his ACL we've got a bargain... Cheaper than Okung who is much worse than him.

Oh, the 4 year extension is actually for 35.5 mil. That would make 40 mil total for the entirety of the 5 year deal.

That sounds familiar...

We run the cap game.
@ryanohalloran per source, #Jaguars worked out CFL OL Xavier Fulton today.
Mike neal really feels like a no brainer idk how we havent met with him

Apparently the guy started out as a DE in college and swapped to O-line later on. Also is a gold gloves boxer. Seems pretty athletic.

Mr. Innis' middle name is Paul, believe it or not.

Harry P. Innis
I love how this team is handling the cap. I'm interested to see how they handle the re-signings of Bortles, Arob, Hurns, Smith, etc.

That's the litmus test for the cap guys. It's easy to spend when we have a butt load of money. When we have a bunch of quality guys to extend at the same time? That's a different shell game.

Being that the Seahawks use a similar type of Defense as the Jaguars,  I'm wondering what position they envision Mike Neal playing for the most part?    Do they see him as a LEO,  as an OTTO, or a combination of both?

The Lions currently don't have any meaningful depth at DE.   At the very least,  Mike Neal is extremely likely being viewed as a DE in some expected passing situations.
