If we're pushing this hard for him I think it speaks volumes as to how much faith Dave and Gus have in Luke
Gus trying to persuade him with ice cream mixed with his special ingredient
Time to pour on the Gus juice.
He's headed back and will look at options. Think he's destined for PIT/SEA...sucks.

Holy, he was on plane when the Jags called him to get off but the doors were closed so he couldn't.

Wow...

Beachum told me he was literally on the plane just now when the #Jags asked if he could get off. But, door is now closed. Talks continue.

That's a #becausejaguars moment if I have ever seen one lol.
IDK how to feel about it tbh...

One one hand, that means there was more negotiating to be done and the Jags REALLY want him. On the other hand, he left JAX without a deal and is headed back. IDK if the likelyhood of this happening is great, but I guess it's good to see we wanted him to come back and get off a boarded plane?

You know what, if a guy doesnt want to play for Jacksonville then I say good riddance. I want people who want to play for my team and represent my city. If we arent good enough then so be it. We will get better without you.

Its getting a little irritating that some of these guys are just using our cap space for leverage against other teams. I understand they are tryna get money but at this stage im suprised some guys are really this picky. Caldwell should really just focus in the draft from here on out. Draft our own and pay our own.

No kidding.

Were they trying to play hard ball or talk as a unit and decide they really shouldn't let him leave? or what? Really weird.

Not sure that he doesn't think Jacksonville isn't good enough, but he may want promises/$$ that we weren't willing to offer, and/or he has better opportunities elsewhere.

I get this argument, but we have no idea what is going on like we did with Vernon.
Get on Khan's private jet and meet him at his arrival airport.
Wow, becoming a theme with these free agents leaving unsigned.
@nflcharlie Tomorrow's headline: Dave Caldwell and Gus Bradley arrested for calling in a fake bomb threat at the Jax airport. https://t.co/fSXrROBvtB

Report: Jags wanted Beachum to sign before leaving

Free agent left tackle Kelvin Beachum concluded a visit with the Jaguars Monday, and ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported Monday night that Jaguars officials were trying to convince Beachum to agree to a contract before leaving Jacksonville.

That didn’t happen. Anderson followed up with a report that said Beachum was already on a plane back to Pittsburgh to evaluate his next step.

The visit was the second since the start of free agency for Beachum, who previously visited the Jets.

Beachum tore his ACL last October, ending his fourth season with the Steelers after six games. Beachum, 26, took over as the full-time left tackle for the Steelers in 2014.

There have been no signs that a Beachum-Steelers reunion is in the cards. The Steelers re-signed guard Ramon Foster before free agency and have either visited or set up visits with other offensive tackles. Sunday, they reportedly made a contract offer to longtime Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung.

The team was going after a guy who may or may not even be able to play at the start of next season. I get we don't know what happened but really?!? Its beyond irratating now. Its not maddening because i feel we really needed him. I think this team was headed the right way anyway. Whats irratating is seeing them spend all day with a second tier guy and he decides to move on. Im sure we gave him something better than the jets and pitt could ever offer. The fact they even bothered going after him should show him we are willing to give him an opportunity to get healthy and compete. But you are right we dont know what went down in negotiations.
