Quote:All due respect how would he know about Bruce Irvin plans?
I dunno. These guys have the "sources".
Where's he reporting this?
Quote:None of them have anywhere near the money we do, on top of no state income tax. We are also seen as a team on the rise with a good owner, GM, HC, and young franchise QB with stability. Irvin to us seems like a done deal. If Jackson's number 1 priority is the money the Raider's can't compete with us because of the crazy state taxes in Cali. Vernon can stay in Florida by coming here. I think we're in a pretty good position to land all three.
You need to realize that just because we have more money doesn't mean that is the end all. if a team has 40M and we have 80M, that doesn't mean we trump the team with 40M on every FA. Not like we're going to offer some ridiculous 20M+ deal for the first year on these players to make a team bow out.
I honestly don't get this argument. "Well, we have more money than any team, so that means we can sign everyone we want. No one else has a chance."
That'd be true if most of the league didn't have a [BLEEP] ton of cap too.
Garrafolo tweeting Raiders making strong push for Osemele, favorites to sign him.
That'd be a huge get for the Raiders. I don't see us paying 10+M for a guard unfortunately. Think Jeff Allen or JR Sweezy are the likely targets (hopefully Allen more so than Sweezy).
If Irvin visits wednesday make sure he doesn't leave without signing a contract!

That's not my argument and I literally laid out in that same post more than just "we have all the money" but ok.

I really don't want Sweezy. He's got Beadles 2.0 written all over him.

Hopefully Khan is flying him out and holding him hostage.
Quote:Agree, I would be more than happy if we could just come away with him and Jackson and a few mid tier signings
Yup thats all I want, Irvin and Jackson, then I dont care who else we get lol

Well people keep saying how we have more money than everyone so we should get this guy, this guy, and this guy. I don't get why it keeps getting stated. That doesn't mean we get every FA we want just because we have more money to spend.

Early FA guys dont usually make more then 1 visit unless they get low balled, he wouldnt come here if the money wasnt right

We'll just keep him locked up on the Kismet until he agrees to a contract

IDK about Beadles, but he definitely isn't "good". From what I gather, he's a very solid run blocker but his pass blocking leaves a TON to be desired. The Seahawks line is terrible, and he was part of that
I have a buddy whose a Seahawks fan and he could care less if Sweezy or Okung returns...certainly doesn't excite me. Unfortunately, there isn't a ton of guards/centers on market that are very good, and if we don't want to pay 10M+ for a guy like Osemele, but we want a veteran in there with Joeckel and Cann/Linder, than we're going to have to settle for an average at best guy.
Like I said, I'd much prefer Allen, but there seems to be a lot of smoke around Sweezy...
Quote:im guessing to sign the contract? The only reason I can think hes waiting till Wed to visit
Players aren't allowed to have contact till Wednesday. Only agents.
IDK what to think on this whole McShay thing. He hasn't tweeted anything nor is anything being said on twitter about it.
On top of that, McShay is a draft analyst. I'm not sure what type of sources he has that would indicate where a Free Agent is going, but then again, who knows. I guess he probably talks with agents and such regarding draft prospects? IDK...

well i hope someone else confirm his source.

Not sure I agree with that. Mario Williams, Charles Johnson, etc. are already going to their 2nd visit here shortly after checking out somewhere. Irvin seems to have two other very strong suitors in ARZ and ATL.
