Jaguars DE Ryan Davis has signed his one-year tender. He will make $2,553,000 in 2016

Hopefully hes involved on more than running down kickoffs and blocking field goals next year. He was a good pass rusher for us 2 seasons ago.
Quote:Yes.
He's a year removed from 14.5 sacks. He can consistently get to the QB and has shown he can do it for multiple seasons. I bet he still has a few 10+ sack years in him.
Bring him to Duval Dave.
I kinda like the idea too i wont lie, but Im also kinda afraid of Hugh Douglas 2.0 happening.

It's official, first Jags signing:.

Quote:I figured he'd get about 3 years/$30 million, so I'd be perfectly fine paying Mario that.
Which would be real close to what a 31 year old Demarcus Ware got coming off a down year in Dallas. Definitely a good deal.
Quote:I love this day and week. Bad thing, I never get any work done.... lol
GO JAGS!!
How is that different from any other week?
Quote:Hard to pay that to a 31 year old who showed signs of slowing down last year. Taking a big chance that being used incorrectly was his only reason for less production. If he could give us 2 or 3 years of 8 or more sacks, Id say hes worth it.
I agree it's a slight risk but one I'd be worth taking. I would rather pay him that than pay what Vernon is rumored to be getting. He's too good of an athlete and player to fall off the cliff that quick. It was simply the wrong situation for him last year in Buffalo. His attitude might be a problem in regards to not giving it 100% there last year but I would take that risk. He had gotten better every year in Buffalo prior to last season.

Good news. He's a good young pass rusher. Great depth guy too.

I figured he would get that or slightly more. I would pay him 4 years at $10 million per with a front loaded deal that leaves no dead money after year 2 or 3.
Grab Mario so if Vernon is off his rocker with his asking price, we can get more FA and still leave Jack/Ramsey in play via draft day.

That was a great signing by the Broncos because they had Miller, Jackson, Trevathan, etc to supplement with Ware.
I really hope Mario Williams could do the same, minus all of the other names, if he were to come here.

One player generating a ton of early interest? #Seahawks OG J.R. Sweezy. I'm told at least 10 teams have expressed serious interest.
It's eerily quiet on the Jaguars front....hopefully it's the quiet before the money storm.

Yeesh, I never thought he was really that good in Seattle.

When looking at what Sweezy brings to the table, he's a highly athletic, super aggressive mauler. Plenty of teams intrigued by his upside.

I don't know anything about him personally.

He was probably the second best lineman, behind Okung, in Seattle. But as a whole, that line stunk and Okung is an average to above average player when healthy. I figured he'd garner interest just because the current crop of linemen aren't good, but 10 teams interested in his services seems a bit much.
I'd say we are pretty much set at guard. No need to spend big money there. Maybe a late day bargain bin guy for depth but Caldwell has been really good at finding quality interior OL in the draft.

For OG J.R. ^ Just about to post that, ha.
Not a fan, hopefully it's just cursory interest.
