Any news on Akiem Hicks? I think he's a sleeper FA like Marks a few years ago..
Quote:Taking my teal glasses off, just from a business perspective, it makes much more sense to sign with a team in Florida over a team in California. That 15 million a year will be a lot lesser when he looks at his taxes in Oakland.

Good point.

Not only do the Jaguars have the advantage of no State Income Tax in Florida. It's a much better organization than the other two Florida NFL teams.
Quote:Apparently the Jags and other teams don't value PFF grades as much as you?

I haven't paid much attention to Sweezy. Just know Seattle has had problems with their offensive line too.

If it's as beadles replacement, I say sure. We need bodies - looks like we will be without 2 starters on this offensive line from last year
Tony Khan values PFF info, he has said so more than once and he talks back and forth to the PFF guys on twitter quite a bit.
Quote:It's also a good sign that people who have coached him really want him on their team.

Absolutely.
Quote:At a 2nd round tender? I'll pass. There's plenty of good LBs in this year's draft.
hes better than p much every lb in this draft besides Jack by a good margin
Quote:We also have Julius who played with him

That could help the Jaguars lure him, as it's a much easier transition for a player with at least one familiar face in the locker room.

Obviously not.
I can't wait till after free agency so I can read all the #becausejaguars

Seahawks have agreed to a three-year deal to retain DT Ahtyba Rubin, source says. Was a priority for them.

I haven't heard anything lately. But prior to the Lions re-signing DT Tyrunn Walker the other day, I thought he was a strong candidate to be signed by the Lions. The team's new G.M. Bob Quinn, who was the head of the Patriots Pro Personnel Department last season, was the person who recommended to Bill Belichick for the Patriots to trade for Hicks from the Saints. Even if the Lions don't end up re-signing Haloti Ngata, it's now less likely than not that Hicks will be heavily pursued by the team. One thing Hicks doesn't lack is talent.
Raiders looking like favourites for Osemele. I'm quite jealous of them. Osemele Hudson Jackson would be one the best interiors in the league easily.

This could easily end Brandon Mebane's long stay with the Seahawks. Being that Gus Bradley coached him in Seattle, he certainly can't be ruled out for the Jaguars.
Some people are saying that the Titans traded the 1st pick in the 3rd round for Murray.

If true that's simply awful value.

Edit: Guy deleted tweet and followed up with his only sources are "NFL minds".

Disregard post.

4 teams -Jaguars, Bears, Broncos, Raiders - in Malik Jackson sweepstakes #9news #9sports

Jaguars are the Jaguars.

Broncos have to pay Osweiler.

Raiders have big state tax and just drafted Mario Edwards last year. Run a 4-3 defense.

That leaves the Bears, and that's where he ends up in my opinion. Reunite with John Fox, same 3-4 scheme I believe. Bears 6th most cap space.

Irvin to Cards.

Mario WIlliams to Giants.

Charles Johnson maybe to Cowboys.

Quote:Dave tried to cut Gerhart but they couldn't get him out the door after 4 failed attempts.

Hmm.. must've had Beadles on front of him

RIMSHOT!

I found some additional information on Akiem Hicks in terms of speculation in Free Agency. The following makes sense, especially if the Bears don't land Malik Jackson or another high price Defensive Lineman. I'm only printing out a small portion of the article. However, there's more information regarding Hicks. I would be somewhat surprised if Hicks gets a high value contract like Mike Daniels did in Green Bay. But it's easy to envision him getting a mid tier contract:

The Bears are expected to be in play for versatile Patriots defensive lineman Akiem Hicks, who was drafted by the Saints when Bears general manager Ryan Pace and director of player personnel Josh Lucas were in New Orleans.
