Would have liked to get Irvin, but it definitely makes a lot more sense to over pay for a young, true pass rushing DE in Vernon and a top CB in Smith/Jenkins. Rather than a SAM backer.

Hard not to feel that way when he follows 70+ people with affiliation with the Jags along with just buying a house in Jacksonville area...

We got Malik who was the best player in Free Agency though, so I'm not as upset as I normally would.

Dave has been saying he wants that Freeney/Mathis kind of combo... Vernon and Fowler would be just that! Add in a little Malik and Odrick up the middle, thats nasty.

Vernon is top priority now and I think once we signed Jackson, Dave shifted his focus to Vernon.
