Ivory is only 27. Seems like he's been in the league forever. BYE Toby and Bye Redzone Issues
Quote:@jeffdarlington Jags weren't overly aggressive with Irvin. They definitely had some interest -- but he wasn't the priority target. https://t.co/uZiaPnV8gi

i wonder why this genius darlington didn't report this earlier?
Great news! Ivory will quickly become a fan favourite.
Jags still working at its 10pm. No sleep Dave!

Quote:I bet it's 5, maybe 6M per. Cheaper than Doug Martin and I'd imagine Doug would want to be the focal guy. Think Ivory is a better fit.
Rapoport just said its well above 6.....

Not sure I understand this one.

Damn. Making it rain I see.
Can someone please explain to me why we are likely giving starter money to a 28 or 29 year old chris ivory when we just drafted Yeldon?! Im all for an upgrade to gerhart, but this in my opinion makes absolutely zero sense.. Are they all the sudden not think yeldon is the guy? He seemed fine to me with our awful line.. love the jckson signing, but this deal seems beyond stupid to me
Chris Ivory is a great pick up.  I'd still like to see us draft an RB late either this year or next.

OVER 6 MILL PER YEAR?!?!?!?! I do not understand this what so ever and completely think it is an awful deal
Quote:Goodbye shoelace.  Best of luck elsewhere.
He's not going anywhere, still a good 3rd or 4th RB and returner
I'm so happy the Jags didn't pay Irvin 12 mill a year. I thought us paying him potentially 10 mill a year was overpaying him and keeping him away from Atlanta and Arizona. The Raiders signing hit me in the face. Dave already said you can overpay but he's not that stupid to pay Irvin 12 mill a year when you can get a real pass rusher like Vernon for 2-3 mill more per year. Now with Chris Ivory he will be great for the redzone/goal line, 3rd and short and a great 1-2 punch. I hope we get Vernon.

Yep.  Gerhart was gone anyway.  Shoelace now as well.

Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade.

We had very obvious problems in short yardage and goalline situations. Yeldon is great on 1st/2nd down, and Ivory will significantly help Short/Goalline.

Fixes a major problem. I'm good with it.

I gotta wait and see on this I guess. RBs are only as good as the O-line and our O-line is ABYSMAL! You can't spray a trash bag full of rotten tuna with febreeze and honestly expect to it smell all dandy (like the commercials lol). Need Oline help ASAP.
Hes turning 28 this month.. we just gave over 6 mill to a 28 year old decent RB when we drafted a starting RB in the early 2nd round last year.. dear god.. all the hype of jackson and maybe vernon has been sucked out from me this is a beyond clueless signing

Prob cuz we have over 90 mil to spend, and you have to over spend or risk losing out on the guys who will help your team win

Back to the stable of backs.  Single RB works only if you have AP.  Very good news.
Six seems like a lot for a backup running back. However, in the grand scheme of things $6 million really isn't that much, especially if its at 3 years. Meh.
