People complain the Jaguars never spend money. The Jaguars spend money and people complain they spent too much money.
Yup. I agree. We've seen both sides of that coin the past couple of days. It's mainly the same people griping about both!
There will always be those who have issue with everything
Not getting Irvin might be a blessing in disguise. Frees up $$ for Vernon
would anyone here be open to trading a mid round pick for Alonso? Performed very well in a 4-3 prior to injury if I remember correctly.

In the case of the Jags apparent decision regarding Chris Ivory, one way to try to view the situation if someone has doubts about the decision is to try to picture what the opposing Defensive Coordinator will be thinking when he has to prepare and adjust to the Jaguars Offense in the next 3 years.

I liked Alonso a lot in Buffalo. Don't know how he did in Philly. I would give a 4th for a long term starter.
Some people seem like after a fantastic steak dinner, a great cigar, and some quality whiskey, they'll complain about it.
Quote:You're a loser if you are whining and complaining about FA when it has just begun and the Jags aren't even close to being done. If it was done, and all we got was Malik Jackson, then you got a legit complaint.
Complaining at the start of FA is like watching the opening credits of a movie and then you're all like "Man I was excited for this movie but not after these opening credits.... this sucks."
Ok I get what you mean. I [BLEEP] up and sounded like a whiny, entitled, brat. Sorry, but please don't call someone a loser for something stupid they said on a forum about a football team.

He's definitely had some injuries in the past couple years. He didn't play much in Philly I believe.
I want the Jags to sign every player I want at the exact amount of money I say each player us worth.

Apologies.
Source: Chris Ivory’s deal with #Jaguars will be for five years, $32.5 million. Between $10-$15m GTD.

If the past is any indication it is probably structured to diminish cap hit in years 3-5

So basically 3 years at $15 million minus Slowbey's cap number this year for the leading rusher in the AFC last season. What's not to like bedwetter crowd?
Gotta luv da love in here
I'd imagine that Ivory's contract is set up so we can cut bait with no dead money after year 2, and I would expect us to do so with T.J. coming into his prime around that time. Some of you just see 6.5 million for 5 years, but you have to understand we are not going to keep Ivory for 5 years. He is a great short term signing to help the running game get going.
@JasonLaCanfora Giants still have $$ to spend. Expected to make a concerted effort to land Olivier Vernon one way or another
Oh boy

I don't know what to expect, but, I can only imagine, with the money we have, and the decision not too pay Irvin more, that Vernon will be given a really good offer from the Jags. Now just hope he wants to come
I'd imagine even though no contact was supposed to happen, that we dropped out of the Irvin sweepstakes because we already have confirmation that Vernon is interested in coming to Jacksonville. I'm still expecting the Dolphins to take the tag of this morning sometime, only makes sense. They might as well receive draft pick compensation instead of nothing.
