I never said to expect Fowler to be the LEO and not get other options. As I just said, we have been rumored in on Irvin heavily who is a OTTO/LEO, Robert Ayers had 9.5 sacks in 12 games last year for the Giants and would come at 9/10M per probably. We have 7 draft picks and Dave has already said we're going defense.
All I'm saying is if we have Fowler, pick up at least a solid LEO type player in FA such as Ayers, and draft a guy or two that we think can have potential rushing the pass rusher and we'd go a long way when considering we added Malik inside and Sen'derrick Marks is coming back healthy. A Malik/Sen/Fowler/FA pass rush on obvious pass downs would be SO much better than last year.

No to Ayers, yes to Irvin, and if not Irvin, and Ramsey is gone, look at that kid from UCLA.

Ayers has gotten a whole lot of love based on last years tape, not sure why we should exclude him when he had 9.5 sacks in 12 games. Vernon had like 7.5 last year and most of that came from when he was moved inside at the 3T from what I gather.
Edit: I know you didn't talk about Vernon and keep alluding to Bruce, but Bruce also has the Cardinals who are hot after him and the Falcons who he said he'd go to if he left Seattle last season. If we get Irvin I'll be very happy and def would rather see him than Ayers. Not easy to get all the main top targets at our biggest positions of needs when other teams have needs at those positions too.

If the money is the same (the Raiders and Jags offer) we'd have the advantage, given the fact that FL has no state income tax, living in CA is incredibly expensive from a tax standpoint. It's possible he's given an indication of "no interest" to the Raiders because of it, of course I'm just speculating here.

Ayers would be a good addition to the team if we end up acquiring Irvin and Jackson (which the rumors are leading me to believe). That coupled with Fowler, Marks, Odrick and Miller would be beastly. Drafting Jack on top of that would give us possibly a top 3 front seven in the league.

If he leaves Denver because they won't offer up, you better believe going to a division rival on the upswing and where his former DC was in JDR is a very enticing option. Chicago with John Fox is as well.
