Quote:Trade for Mingo. Rumor has it, Dave was thinking about it at the deadline. Plus, browns giving away the enitre team.

Trade for a bum! Genius!
Quote:So Marquis Lee and a 3rd for Chandler Jones?

I'm still somewhat bullish on Lee coming around once healthy, so I'd rather give up a pick equivalent to his value right now.

I'm surprised the #Jaguars didn't get Robert Ayers done at those numbers. $19.5 mil over three with potential to reach $21 mil isn't crazy.

I agree

Figured Dave would do anything in his power to assure himself a job beyond this season. Instead he keeps [BAD WORD REMOVED] away opportunities.

I guess Skuta is going to be our pass rusher.
Yeah Khalil Mack was useless year one. If you're picking a guy top 5 you expect him to be able to be effective when you draft him.

Dave was thinking about it at deadline last year, thats why im mentioning it.

DL Jarvis Jenkins to the #Jets on a 2-year deal, source said. Low-cost signing.

Dave has consistently said he's building through the draft. If he didn't sign Ayers to that contract, there's a reason. He's 30 and signed a 3 year deal. Maybe age? Idk, but there may be options he has that we aren't thinking of or he's got a pick other than Jack at 5. Jack can't play Leo right? lol

GO JAGS!!

Quote:I get losing out Mario/Irvin because you were working on your #1 target in Vernon, but our backup plan in Ayers is now going somewhere else on what seems to be a very reasonable deal after we had him in the building. Dave is a pretty good GM and it's obvious he knows we need to get better edge players since we've been going after them all free agency, so there has to be at least something cooking with trades because it makes zero sense otherwise.

Maybe Ayers simply preferred Tampa to Jacksonville? Scrip clubs and hoes!
Trading for Mingo is one of the most ridiculous thing I've ever read, unless you're talking a conditional 7th and even then I wouldn't be sold.

Cardinals TE Jermaine Gresham visited Jets today, per source.

I don't want to trade Lee either but if push comes to shove he's one of the few expendable Jags with trade value. We have Greene and Walters still and both can fill the slot role.

Totally the rule and not in anyway the exception. Good call.

How in the World do you know Dave was thinking about it last year?

Just stop.

You have no clue what he was thinking.

If you have a quote from Dave on that - then post it and stop making stuff up.
If we didn't have Greene, I'd say no way to trading Lee. But he can't seem to stay on the field long and if the right trade came around, might have to pull it.....

GO JAGS!!

Watch though, we trade him and he blows up....

#becausejaguars lol

You clearly said:

And I presented you with someone that was as recently as 2014. I'm sure I could find many more if I could be bothered looking despite you saying "rookie pass rushers are not effective".
Bring back John Chick. Remember him lol

I could be wrong, but wasn't Mack just average in his rookie season?

If they demanded Lee in the trade, I'd probably end up giving him away. However, it would be pretty tough for me to give up an early 3rd round pick and Lee for a player, albeit very good player, who New England seems content with moving on from.

No he was great. He didn't get the sacks he did in his second year but he was very very good.

Here's a decent article about his rookie year: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/23098...ear-talent
