Sneed is a relatively young corner and a cap casualty. I dont know if I’d trade for him, but the chefs aren’t shopping him for the reasons you describe. He has good trade value and they can’t afford him.
Cool, he is 27 and then when they cut him we save a 2nd, unless we want to pay 20 million for a one year rental. I guess the bet is we can extend him for the long term making him part of our core defense. Like you, not sure it is worth it.

Now that makes sense, Buy low (4th round) sell high (2nd round) Pass from me let the Chiefs eat the 19.8 million. They are like 1.5 above the cap currently we are about 20.

Yeah I wouldn't do the 2nd. If they get no interest at that ask. Maybe send them the 3rd rounder. I think compensatory picks are tradable now where they used to not be, but being at the end of the round probably means someone else's 3rd would get accepted before ours.

The Chiefs are in a box, I hope no one lets them out. they have 1-6 million in cap space now, eating the 19.8 Sneed number. They will need about 6 million to sign their draft class. Another million or so for their practice squad guys. That will leave them almost no room if someone gets banged up. They are pretty locked up without other moves or someone biting on this gambit.
If we felt Sneed was going to be a "core" player for years to come AND could come to an agreement with him on a contract maybe a 5th or 6th. We really need the other ones. Problem is all 3 of our division rivals are flush with money this year.

They still have to sign Chris Jones. I hope they dont get a deal done before FA starts so Jones can hear offers from other teams. From his tweet yesterday though it looks like they were close to a deal

Not a bad pickup. 6'2" or 6'3 depending on the site, would give us another taller target. Even and Zay are our other 6'2+ targets. Everyone else is smaller.
That's about 5 Mil more per year than Myles Garrett, not unexpected but 'ooof.' If he doesn't keep up those sack numbers and reverts to 7ish in 2021 & 2022 it's a huge and expensive letdown.

It's wild to say we "whiffed on strange" Tight ends notoriously take a couple of years to start producing at the NFL level. Not everyone is sam laporta. Kelce didn't catch a pass til he was 25. Kittle 24. Brenton just turned 23.
