Now draft/trade for a #1 WR and extend Trevor and sign a backup pass rusher and this offseason is dang good.

They NEED our pick, anyone's pick to select their LT's replacement as their QB is not that mobile. Also, to keep him they will have to pay a lot with a tight cap.

Brandon Aiyuk 5'11'' - 205lbs. - 4.5 40time - 1.52 10yd time
Zay Jones 6'2'' - 201lbs. - 4.45 40time - 1.51 10yd time
Christian Kirk 5'11'' 201lbs - 4.45 40time - 1.5010yd time

I also think Aiyuk would be too expensive, but that's the only reason I wouldn't want him.   I'd include Zay with any trade to them.

I think Aiyuk is more durable than Zay.  Also, as an overall receiver Aiyuk is better than Zay.  Younger as well.

For the right price Aiyuk would be an upgrade to Zay Jones, regardless of their 40 time.  imo

Huh? Aiyuk would be our best WR instantly. Obviously he's better than Zay.

We'll see.    My thinking is that there is no reason to get excited over something that might not happen.

I don't care one way or the other.  He would be nice to have but so would the picks and the cap space

I don't see the value to us to trade for another team's #2 receiver and pay for it with a high pick and high salary. All the while bailing that team out of it's cap issues. (Deboo Samuels is their #1)

As for Zay there are A LOT of opportunities to draft his replacement in this year's draft.  That is the only reason the 49ers are doing this and they have to replace their 35 year old LT who has been a real standout all his career. Why bail out the opposition? If we really want the guy wait a year he will be a free agent and we can see if the breakout year was reality?

Aiyuk has passed Samuel to be their number 1 WR the last couple years.  Aiyuk is an ascending WR and has gotten better every year.  He would be a nice addition to the WR corps but so would one of these rookies in the draft along with the picks and cap space

Looked at the stats, yea, he gets more targets. SF have spent themselves into quite the box. Deboo wants to be traded and has a cap hit of 43 million and a dead cap of 28 million as they pushed a bunch of money into the future. Trent Williams is 35 and when not in (which is increasing) not a lot works for them as their QB gets chased around the pocket and the world class running back is not as effective.  They didn't pay Arik and we got him in FA with them getting no return.  I say we keep our picks and wait a year if we really want him. We can overpay him then and keep the draft pick. Who knows one of this really deep receiver class will be a better fit while saving the money for our guys (TL)

Beside I don't see this guy being 20 million more than Zay.. Zay only saves 10 million with a 6.5 million cap hit for dead money. So 4 million savings

We won't get him in a year in FA.  Someone will trade for him and pay him if he really requested a trade.

Just checking to say the Jaguars are going to be a problem in 2024. The offense is about to clap back.

That defense is improved upfront,. Allen got his money and should be primed for 20 sacks this year. Johnson will have a chance to make plays on the back end.

Can’t wait for the draft. Go Jaguars! See you guys on April 25th.

The Lombardi is ours!
I’ll take Gipson over Chaisson

Especially with Lawrence and Etienne rounding out their rookie contracts. Looking to see big output from them in year four.

Travon looking even bigger this year. I think he will have a monster season and a breakout year.

Rugby players always intrigue me because it seems they have the potential to be good American football players, but typically are not.

Agreed, I think that the skills developed from Pop Warner all the way through college, are very difficult to replace/teach, even with a body that has all the athletic talents.

Yep. Being a gifted athlete simply always isn't enough. Everybody remembers Michael Jordan playing baseball for a brief moment in the sun.

It's rare you ever see a Bo Jackson or Deion Sanders in today's world. I am sure there's some guys out there that could do it. Contracts are different these days though.

He was an Australian rules football player, not a rugby player. Having good hands is much more of a necessity in Australian football than rugby, so his skills could potentially translate to a TE.

My bad. I would like to see the guy succeed here. He’s an ideal sized TE.
Gipson looks the part. Dude is 193cm tall and weighs 119kg

Yeah aussie rules has heavy contact and requires delicate hands whilst moving at a fast pace  he could probably be a backup punter if required tbh.
