I have no problem with that. We blow almost every first round pick anyway. May as well get a proven player.

Yea, they want as much as they can get. He wants to get as much as he can and not in Cali. Personally, I want to keep our picks. They are our future.

Baalke has hit on all 3.

Really?  Our first round picks under Baalke are:

Trevor Lawrence
Travis Etienne
Travon Walker
Devin Lloyd
Anton Harrison

Which of those picks is blown?

So, I’m the nitwit, huh? Do these names ring a bell for you?  Jared Odrick, 2015, 5 years, $42.5 million. Released in 2017, never played another down in the NFL again. How about Hugh Douglas? 2003, 5 years, $27 million……played one year in Jax, later admitted he “ stole “ the money from the Jags. Or how about Aaron Kampman? 4 years, $25 million…..played 2 years, was cut, never played another down in the NFL. Then there was Jerry Porter…..6 years, $30 million. Cut after one season. Nick Foles, 2019, 4 years, $88 million…..played FOUR GAMES.  I could go on and on with the list. I guess you can’t fix stupid, huh?

You listed exactly two people who ‘came here to retire’. Douglass and Porter.  The others in no way shape or form ‘came here to retire’.  Kampman…hurt.  Foles…hurt.  Odrick was never that good to begin with but played hard while he was he.  You’ve got a pretty wide open definition of ‘coming here to retire’.  Actually a pretty [BLEEP] stupid one.  And you’re right, you can’t fix stupid and you keep proving it.  Carry on.

Dude, would you get out of 2020? We've taken TLaw, Travon, and Anton the last three drafts and all three are serious hits. Baalke does fine in the 1st round, it's after that where he has some issues.

Plus he’s young with a lot of upside; a real down the field receiver, you can’t cover everybody…

It's even better when you include the second 1s like you did. Some people are so traumatized by the past the they can't see the present.

Not "plus", it was a very ignorant statement.

Right on. 100% percent wow.

Super excited
Yea just what we need a slower 5'11'' 200lb receiver than the 3 we already have under contract. We can corner the market on those guys! A deep receiver class like this year really makes current players expendable no?
Pass on any more high price free agent receivers.
I do the math. Potential what we could get at 17 that would almost certainly need a year of development. Or, A proven wide receiver that would instantly make Lawrence and this offense better. I take option B if they would only take the 17 th overall. I also would consider throwing in next year's 3rd if a contract could be agreed upon before the trade.

pass on trading ANY picks.  Our first round picks have played their first year pretty well. You guys remind me of kids in a candy store that end up with a stomach ache later.

The issue is cap space. Signing Josh will put us pretty close then adding someone like Aiyuk would be probably mean a new contract which would be pretty high. We've got Lawrence and Etienne to resign then guys like Cisco, Campbell, Travon down the line. I get taking a proven weapon but we need to get draft picks to be able to be key contributers on rookie deals.
I think I would take a shot at getting a #1 type wr this draft and pick a cb next rounds. I do like the idea of Ayuk also. I’m good either way. That lsu wr seems good too.
I have always loved u baalke

Really interested to see how the draft goes now if we get ayuk

You can't really give him credit for picking Trevor with the 1.01 surely?

Etienne has done well and Anton looks to be a pretty good pick. Lloyd and Walker can't exactly be considered hits, particularly when you consider opportunity cost of what was required to get them. (In Walker's case turning down a bunch of players that have done better than him so far in his career)

Picking Walker over Hutch is a pretty clear error at this point, do people not agree?
At the risk of getting into a debate I don’t wanna get into, there’s no doubt hutch is a better pass rusher. But I have no problems with walker at all. Much better against the run and as he develops will become more and more versatile. I have no issues with picking him over hutch.

As for lloyd he has struggled but it’s hard to criticise the front office for that, majority of this board and fan base were thrilled when they picked him. Everyone thought we were getting a difference maker. It seemed a very safe pick at the time Sometimes players just don’t live up to what you had hoped.

Lloyd was second on the team in tackling. Maybe he can be utilized more effectively in 2024 with a new scheme and coaches. I would like to see him get used on a blitz some. Now muma had like 7 tackles last season. He’s looking like a Huge bust.

LMBO. The truth Cometh out.

NH3...
It's hard to imagine a way to grab Aiyuk tbh.
We will probably have to trade our 1st rd pick and then sign him to a huge contract.

I may be wrong, but he is probably using the Jags interest to force the 49ers to give him big money.
