I definitely want to see Ridley walk for the compensatory pick and the cap room. He's fool's gold. I don't think he'll be that big of a loss if they can add an upside FA, like Davis, and a 2nd round pick, and maybe another TE to make up for whiffing on Strange.

Trevor is good at spreading the ball. Ridley functioned best as a second option to Kirk anyway.

It's wild to say we "whiffed on strange" Tight ends notoriously take a couple of years to start producing at the NFL level. Not everyone is sam laporta. Kelce didn't catch a pass til he was 25. Kittle 24. Brenton just turned 23.

Hilariously strange was barely given a shot as a pass catcher. Laporta was featured out the gate. Not even remotely close comparison.
Ummm

Why did the Jags just trade for Mac Jones?
I personally don’t hate it. Younger backup with growth potential.

I would have rather have forfeited the 6th rounder than trade it for Mac jones.

For a 6th round pick.  Jacksonville native.  Better than Beathard.  The top three that I can think of.

That and he was the best QB in that draft.   Laughing

There's no potential for growth. He's awful and has gotten worse since he's been in the league.

This is the dumbest trade I could think of.

Mac Jones sucks

I couldn't agree more. Watching him play makes me.feel nauseous. Trevor better stay healthy.

Yeah I don’t understand this one at all. Just pointless
Beathards replacement.
Interesting...

Jones never had any weapons in NE or a good OC to help him. Jones with much higher upside than Beathard
The Browns got Amari Cooper for a 5th and then Jeudy for late round picks.

Jags said… how do you feel about a backup QB who actually sucks for a 6th?
So wack - is he cheaper than Beathard or something?

He certainly isn’t better, and Trevor won’t be too happy that Beathard is gone.

Feels like more friction being created by Baalke

BAALKE MASTERCLASS

I [BLEEP] hate this [BLEEP] team.
Can he play Center?
Could simply just be upgrading your back up QB which a 6th rounder is acceptable compensation for. Hopefully it's not indicative of some worse injury to Trevor than we were previously aware of.
I'm just gonna wait til preseason and see how it works out for him, then decide if this trade was worth it

Actually I like it. Lots of experience. He has been good and bad at times. He survived the bad regime of Bill B after Brady left exposing that coach as a 45% winner without the GOAT playing for him.  Tough duty following Brady in New England. He will challenge for the backup role.
