Missed that on my end. Happened back in January it looks like. Still can't believe we traded two picks to move up to get him. I had some high hopes for the guy. Found the endzone a lot in college as a short yardage back. Just never seemed to click here.

That's a hell of a backfield they have in Dallas now.

Can't wait, three years from now, to see Snoop Connor and Luke Fortner being SB champions on the chiefs lol

No way the Chiefs can continue that offensive success with their offensive mastermind, Eric Bieniemy.

I knew this town wasn't big enough for Snoop Conner.  Reminds me of Shaq leaving Orlando for the LA Lakers.
Cowboys are going to like to pass the ball guys.

Almost as bad as some of the Jags WR groups from Del Rio to right before Pederson.

how could that possibly have been left off the front page of every sports news outlet?

Dad gum media bias, rearing its ugly head again.

finished that for you
Thanks guys, you made me feel much better about my lack of attention to the signing of our mistakes.
Jags should draft Braelon Allen.

As backups? Big deal. Fortner's problem is strength and leverage. If he ever figures that out he has everything else to be a quality starter in the NFL. The reality is unless he hits the PEDs chances are next to 0 he ever becomes a starter.

Why?  Because he's a former LB turned RB?

I'm pretty sure he can get that short yardage we need, maybe he can become more than that. Only 3 guys coming back from last season as far as I can tell and Balke loves drafting RB's.

47 career catches for 436 yards in a 4-year career.

That sounds like a camp body.  To fill out a 90-man roster.

Yeah. Just doing some due diligence early at this point. I remember last year we were signing guys like Michael Dogbe and Henry Mondeaux. Just camp fodder.

Hopefully this is a good indication that he won't be drafting a TE early again at least in this year's draft. They did visit with that physical freak, Theo Johnson from Penn St. though. Wouldn't mind him.

I don't think this signing affects whether we draft a TE at all.  This is a potential special teams player.  That's all it is.

More than likely designed to operate as a fullback or in-line blocker, in order to free up strange to run routes

Yeah. A little too soon I think with giving up on a 61st overall pick just barely under a year ago. We'll see if they start doing different things philosophically with the running game. It just doesn't work at all here consistently enough and you can't keep banking on one player at Center being the primary, root cause of failing there.

I mean, I hope it's true, but, they should still be beefing up the depth chart next month. All of those cute little shirts they wore the past few years with being poorly ranked as a unit should now have a new mantra of being healthy and holding up better physically.

Our so called "best five" didn't start last year as a whole unit until the season finale with everything riding on the line and they folded like napkins in crunch time.
You never know when or where injury will strike. This guy could easily find himself on the roster in certain scenarios.
