And my boss understands he getting no work out of me today.
haha truer words hath never been spoken
Quote:Still not a fan of giving up big money along with a high 2nd round pick. That high 2nd round pick is premium guys. Some of the best Jaguars in history were drafted using a high 2nd round pick.
Tashaun Gipson is a premium player: 24 years old, Pro Bowler, and led the AFC in INTs the past two seasons.

I agree but an arguement could be made for Gipson.
My only answer :
Because they're Cleveland?
Quote:They're guaranteed the 36th pick if we'd go after him. Not sure why they would settle for one year of Lewis at $7million even if they're losing Cameron.
I can't lie Gipson is worth a second round pick. It would be nice to fleece the browns but the offer is worth it.
If a safety was drafteable in the second we would do it. I'm starting to warm up to this idea. He still wouldnt get paid more than 7-8 million a year which is decent
Anyone have an update on TMD's epic meltdown I'm sure he's having on Twitter right now?
Oh...my....God. I just looked and saw Gipson was undrafted out of Wyoming. The year after we took Prosinski. He couldn't give us a heads up?!?
Off topic a little, but did anyone else just see that collaboration of Stu Scott commercials on ESPN just now? That was awesome stuff..
Miss that man..
Basically offer Gipson the same contract we offered to McCourty and see if the Browns flinch.

Is he worth Parker (as an example) + whoever we'd take with that 2nd round pick?

I'm ok with that. How much cap do/will we have left? Maybe wait until they sign a TE (hopefully for a lot lol).?
GO JAGS!!

Yea no way they take Lewis, Gratz is possible since he is young and they might lose Buster Shrine and are disappointed in Justin Gilbert
I'm 50/50 on gipson. I mean if your sitting there at 36th pick and someone told you "you can draft this X fs and he is a proven pro bowler at the NFL level" how could u not take him. I understand the 36th pick is premium pick and you never know who might fall to you there but can't get over the fact of getting something proven to be pro bowl talent with that pick
Good point. What was the deal on Gilbert anyway? Lack of skill or just lazy?

Its gotten pretty quiet, wonder if thats because we have an hour before FA and teams don't want to worry about NFL.
I think that if we could find a player of Gipson's quality in round 2, we'd take him. And money really doesn't seem to be a problem, so why not ?
Worst thing that could happen is we miss out on a player who unexpectedly drops out of round one.
I'm beginning to think we might have no need for the draft anyway, after we pay all these free agents !

Haha, yes they're probably terrified.

I know. We're going to have some serious cuts to do before the season starts :O
GO JAGS!!

I thought he was overrated prospect from the get go, Browns reached on him and he was lazy and wanted to party with Johnny Football

Not saying their terrified, but why not wait an hour and not have to worry about them getting upset with you?
