The price for Murray is too steep.  We can use that money on other guys that are still available.  They are still out there.

I'm guessing Cowboys are playing the "it's not all about money" card. Knowing he likes it there. But appears Jags are really trying here.

Sounds about right.

Or that RT @MikeGarafolo: Actually, more than a visit for RB Ryan Mathews with he Eagles. He’s expected to sign with the team, source says.

It's between us and Dallas for DeMarco.

Eagles hosting Ryan Mathews today, maybe they are out of it.

Reports are that they got him
Quote:I love the talking heads on NFL network talking last night about why Murray should go to the raiders

Two of them said the raiders cuz of the following reasons………

A young qb they drafted last year

They can get a wr at the top of the draft this year

               They are young

               Its sunny in California

               Raiders can pay a lot

um didnt they just describe a us? but we did all those better

They likely overlooked the double digit State Income Tax and the worst playing surface in the NFL.

I think he's talking about Matthews to the Eagles?

The team is not going to be up against the cap. Signing Murray would not prevent them from signing other guys,
I think the eagles will have a hard time signing any running back, Shady made it perfectly clear yesterday that he called Gore and told him to rethink the eagles, thats all he would say he said but he was grinning when he said it. So I'm sure he is calling the other RB's also.
Just read the entire thread. Wow.
How long did it take to read the entire thing? lol

Assuming the contract estimates of the 6 or so FA's the Jaguars are signing is correct,   is there any information on how much salary cap space the Jaguars currently still have?  With all of the NFL activity in the NFL going on,  it's hard to keep up on multiple fronts.  LOL

If there's a MB thread that has this information,   the link to that would be a great alternative as well.

Last I saw, we're roughly at $30M right now. Not sure if that is already factoring in the a cap hold for the rookie deals though.

I believe I read in this thread we have about 31 mil left before draft
Sounds about right: give or take 2 million.

I love how this regime seems to go hard after top level players, even if we don't get them all they're really trying:

Alex Mack, Julius Thomas, Devin McCourty (rumoured) and DeMarco Murray.

I don't remember the previous GM being like this.

Thanks for the estimate.   That amount of cap space certainly provides the Jaguars with tremendous flexibility.   Including saving some for next season.

Thanks.   That's more than most teams had before the last few days.
