Gus is probably wide awake....no caffeine needed

I hate the patriots. Really? He calls to say he's moving on, then they magically pony up the money for him. He probably told them all the offers he had, and they gave him one with a bit less money.

I can't blame him for wanting to stay on a such a highly thought of team, but if I were him and the Pats offered me money AFTER everyone else has put out offers it would make me bitter/mad.

It sucks we missed out on him, don't know who else we should target now.
Well we have to get a FS from free agency as there isn't anyone obvious in the draft who will be effective straight away.

Rahim Moore looks like the next best option. Step down from McCourty but is only 25
Can't wait for all the ridiculous rumors today lol.

He is saying Murray may be going back to Dallas, hat in hand.

"The Cowboys believe that running back DeMarco Murray’s franchise-record season had more to do with the men doing the blocking than the man carrying.  Other teams may be feeling the same way.

"Through two days of a negotiating-period-gone-bonkers, news has been scarce on Murray.  A suggestion that the Jaguars may make a major push for Murray doesn’t mesh with the team’s strategy for spending."

If this is true, then all the rumors about the Jags making a push for Murray could have been his agent trying to create a market for the guy.

The report makes sense considering Caldwell said getting a RB is one of the last pieces of the puzzle.  But who know, this front office has been very stealthy in their approach to signing and drafting talent.

I said this would happen in one of the cap threads. It sucks

Yup and we're the perfect team to used with all the cap room
So is Julius confirmed or still speculation?
What do you all mean we're being used? There have been I believe three marquee FA heavily thought to be switching teams in Suh, Maxwell, and Julius Thomas (4 if you count Maclin but I wouldn't quite call him marquee). The Jags appear to have gotten one of them. That sure seems good to me. You should go see the Raiders fans melting down about how distraught they are that they struck out on all of Suh, Cobb, and Julius.

Poop. Looks like we are not trying hard enough.

Same thing we have been reading - reporters spouting crap about the Jaguars being great candidates for players they don't really want. Remember when everyone said we were making a strong push for Suh but it turned out we did not try hard to get him? This is probably kinda like that. I will take this with a grain of salt until I see a report that we are making a strong push for Jared Odrick.

Of course it's not confirmed. Today is Monday, March 9. I know people don't always want to read 54 pages, but several posters have explained already nothing can be official until Tuesday, March 10 shortly after 4:00.
McCourty takes a team friendly deal to stay a Patriot. Guess that whole Logan Mankins situation didn't teach him anything about loyalty. I know we put a better number out there. Last time we had a shot at a legit FS we pumped the brakes on overspending on Weddle. We had our shot and took it. Can't make him sign the contract.

Sure we are. We are making offers that are calculated. Caldwell isn't going to pull a Gene Smith and overpay for everyone. He has a value and DC wont go above it. I like that. Parnell and Barksdale are both very capable upgrades if we miss on Bulaga

You know what I meant

I don't know anything about Parnell or Barskdale. What I do know is if a player was usually a backup somewhere else, he should be the backup here too because we cannot accept mediocrity anymore.

Yes, you meant, "I want to know if it has been reported yet." That's pretty obvious.
